In the period May 2022 - April 2024, NSI will work on a project with European co-financing ‘Data collection for City and Subnational Statistics’

In May 2022, in line with Grant Agreement № 101052213-2021-BG-CITY with the co-financing of the European Commission, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) has started the work on the next stage of the project ‘Data collection for City and Subnational Statistics’. Bulgaria has been participating in the previous phases of the project since 2004.

Quality improvement of intra-EU trade data in the context of the microdata exchange

In March, NSI launched a project ‘Quality Improvement of Intra-EU Trade Data in the Context of the Microdata Exchange’.

The international trade in goods statistics plays an important role for the analysis of the economic development and the policy making at national and Community level. The GDP formation and the Balance of payments of the countries are influenced in great extend by the international trade activity result.

The National Statistical Institute has started work under the ‘Income and Living Conditions (ILC) - Statistical infrastructure under IESS - SILC 2022 module - 2021 and 2022 Infra-annual data collection’ project since September 2021. The implementation of the project is in accordance with Grant Agreement with the European Commission N 101052273 - 2021-BG-ILC-SILC.

‘Labour Force Survey 2022 ad hoc module on job skills’ project

The National Statistical Institute has started work on the ‘Labour Force Survey 2022 ad hoc module on job skills’ project. The implementation of the project is according to the Grant Agreement with the European Commission No. 101052204-2021-BG-LFS SURVEY.

The ad hoc module on ‘Job skills’ is included in the regular 2022 Labour Force Survey following the requirements of Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2020/256 of 16 December 2019 and Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/1642 of 5 November 2020.

In the period November 2021 - February 2022, the NSI will conduct a "Survey on Gender-Based Violence"

In November 2021, in implementation of the Grant agreement with the European Commission № 960467-2019-BG-GBV SURVEY-2, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) will start conducting a survey among households in the framework of the project “Gender-Based Violence”.

The survey is carried out in strict compliance with the requirements of national legislation and methodological recommendations of the European Commission. The survey will be conducted among all Member States of the European Union, using a uniform methodology and harmonized tools developed and validated by Eurostat.

Online conference on project BGLD-3.001-0001 "Novel Approaches to Generating Data on hard-to-reach populations at risk of violation of their rights"

An online conference on the project BGLD-3.001-0001 "New approaches to data generation for hard-to-reach groups of the population at risk of violation of their rights" was held on May 17 and 18, 2021, organized jointly by the National Statistical Institute (NSI) and the European Union Fundamental Rights Agency  (FRA).

The conference was entitled "First Results and Next Steps". Representatives of the European Commission, international organizations, state and local authorities, the scientific community and non-governmental organizations took part.

The end of 2020 marks one year since the Information System ’Monitorstat‘ has been released

At the end of 2020, the Information System ‘Monitorstat’ turned one year old. It was developed as a part of the project ’Building a statistical base and information system for monitoring of European and national strategies and regional policy‘, implemented with the financial support of the Operational Program ’Good Governance‘ (OPGG) 2014 - 2020, co-financed by the European Union through the European Social Fund.
