The National Statistical Institute started working on the “Labour force survey ad hoc module 2014 on the labour market situation of migrants and their immediate descendants” project. The implementation of the project is according to the Grant Agreement with the European Commission No. 07122.2013.007-2013.223.

The aim of the project is to provide internationally comparable data for analysis of the labour market situation of migrants and their immediate descendants, and in particular to provide data about:

In relation to a request for technical assistance by the National Statistical Office of Algeria experts from the department of “Strategic planning, international projects and quality management” of NSI will provide training in the field of classifications and nomenclatures. The expert mission is going to take place on 17 and 18 September 2013 in the capital of Algeria.

Population and Migration, Final Data for 2012

The National Statistical Institute publishes the final data on the number of population as of 31.12.2012 and data on the migration processes in 2012.
The following information is presented:
• Number of population by age and sex;
• Territorial distribution of population down to municipality level;
• Population of towns/cities;
• Migration of population inside the country;

The National Statistical Institute has started a work on the project "Food waste statistics” in accordance with the Grant Agreement with the European Commission No. 08232.2013.003-2013.286

The project objectives are aimed to obtaining a more detailed picture of the food waste, as well as to the combination of the sources of statistical and administrative information useful for statistics on food wastes. Also, the project aims to identify and fill gaps in approaches for the calculation and estimation of the data based on the maximum benefit from the available information on the food waste statistics.

Project “Linking micro-data on international sourcing and global value chains with other statistical repositories”

The National Statistical Institute has launched a project “Streamlining of the SBS, FATS and PRODCOM legal framework in the context of the integration of business statistics (FRIBS)”which is carried out in accordance with the Grant agreement with the European Commission № 06123.2013.002-2013.292.
The general objectives of the project are:
• Compilation of quarterly statistics on legal unit’s registrations, deregistration and bankruptcies.

The Library of the National Statistical Institute has published "Census of January 1, 1888" and "Census of January 1, 1893." digital collections.
Users of statistical information have free of charge online access to nearly 10,000 digital pages statistical information about the population by age, marital status, birthplace, residence, mother tongue, literacy, nationality, towns, districts and others.
