NSI Will Train Experts from the Statistical Office of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia in the Field of Agro-monetary Statistics
Two-day training began today during which experts from the ‘Macroeconomic Statistics’ directorate at NSI will acquaint their Macedonian colleagues with the Bulgarian experience in the field of agro-monetary statistics.
The main points of the study visit will be devoted to:
- Presentation of the agricultural statistics in Bulgaria from institutional point of view;
Meeting of the National Statistical Council
On November 26, 2014 (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. in the premises of the NSI a meeting of the National Statistics Council will held. The meeting will focus on discussion and adopting the Draft National Statistical Programme of the National Statistical Institute for 2015, as well as the Annual Report on Activities of the NSI in 2014.
Urban Audit 2014
According to the EU Grant agreement № 08141.2013.001-2013.646, the National Statistical Institute has started work on a 24-months project Urban Audit 2014. The last is a continuation of the successfully completed in February 2014 project Urban Audit 2012. Bulgaria has participated in separate project phases since 2004 onwards.
European Statistical System Committee meets on 13 November 2014
On 13 November 2014 in Eurostat, Luxembourg, the 23rd meeting of the European Statistical System Committee (ESSC) will be held. This is the fourth and the last ESSC meeting for the year. It is chaired by Eurostat and attended by the Heads of National Statistical Institutes of the EU Member States and representatives of ECB, OECD and EFTA countries. Mr. Sergey Tsvetarsky, President of the National Statistical Institute, will participate in the event on behalf of Bulgaria.
Study visit to the National Statistical Institute on “Tourism satellite accounts” for experts from the Republic of Azerbaijan
On 29-31 October 2014 the National Statistical Institute hosts training for experts from the State Statistical Committee, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The training aims to introduce experts from the Republic of Azerbaijan with the Bulgarian practice in the area of “Tourism Satellite Accounts”.
The National Statistical Institute has started a project ‘Development of a European Index of Services production (ISP)’
NSI has started a project ‘Development of a European Index of Services production (ISP)’ implemented in accordance with the Grant agreement with the European Commission № 06131.2014.002-2014.365.
The aim of the project is to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of statistical production process and provide statistics on key areas linked to enterprises.
The main activities of the project will be developed in three areas:
Eurostat launched a second round of peer reviews in all EU member countries
From August 2014 Eurostat launched a second round of peer reviews in all EU member countries, which must be completed by July 2015.
Unlike previous reviews, the current peer reviews in the system of Eurostat will cover all the principles of the European Code of Practice. The approach will be auditing, i.e. a team of auditors will draw up the final recommendations for all countries - members of the European Union.
