12^th grade Students from "Elin Pelin", 19^th Secondary School, profile "Entrepreneurship and Business", visited the National Statistical Institute on November 22, 2012.

In this study visit the students met with key experts from NSI and got acquainted with the process of collection, production and dissemination of statistical information, as well as the practical side of business surveys and other statistical surveys.

The National statistical institute is a partner to „Managing migration and its effects in South-East Europe - transnational actions towards evidence based strategies” project (SEEMIG), which is realized by the Transnational Cooperation Programme “South East Europe 2007 - 2013" (http://www.southeast-europe.net/hu/).

The NSI President Reneta Indjova, Ph.D. will participate in the 15^th meeting of the European Statistical System Committee (ESSC), which will be held in the premises of Eurostat in Luxembourg on 15 November 2012. This is the last, fourth meeting this year of ESSC, chaired by Eurostat and attended by the Heads of National Statistical Offices of the Member States and representatives of EFTA countries, ECB and OECD. The previous meeting was held in late September in Prague, the Czech Republic.

The National Statistical Institute presents to its users the results from the Quality self-assessment in the National Statistical System, conducted in the period May - July 2012.

At an enlarged meeting held on 9 October 2012, the National Statistical Council (NSC) adopted a Strategy for Development of the National Statistical System for the period 2013 - 2017. It outlines the mission, vision, objectives and priorities for the next five years. The Strategy will be implemented through an Action plan, with detailed tasks, responsibilities, deadlines and expected results.

The President of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) Reneta Indjova, PhD will participate in the 98^th Conference of the Directors-General of the National Statistical Institutes (DGINS) to be held in Prague, the Czech Republic, on 24 and 25 September 2012.

Experts from the Department of Statistics of Jordan were on a study visit at the National Statistical Institute. The visit was funded by the EC, under the Technical Assistance Information Exchange Instrument (TAIEX) for implementation of the acquis, within the framework of which is provided a short-term technical assistance in the form of seminars, study visits and expert missions. It was held from 18 to 22 June 2012.

In the period 2-4 July 2012, NSI hosted a study visit of experts from the Federal State Statistics Service of Russia (ROSSTAT). The event was organized within the framework of the bilateral cooperation between the National Statistics of Bulgaria and the Russian Federation, as a result of the signed on 7 June 1999 in Moscow Agreement on Cooperation in the field of statistics, and the Protocol signed between NSI and ROSSTAT in Sofia in 2009.
