The President of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) Assoc. Prof. Atanas Atanasov, PhD, met the Vice President of the Bulgarian Industrial Association (BIA) Maria Mincheva and experts from BIA.

The reason for the meeting is the possibilities for optimal cooperation between NSI and BIA. Those present discussed the possibility of NSI providing data, and experts from the Association preparing analytical materials. The analyses will be different in scope, with direct relevance to the Bulgarian business environment.

The President of the Bulgarian NSI Assoc. Prof. Atanas Atanasov, PhD, took part in a meeting of the leaders of the national statistical institutes of Croatia, Romania and Bulgaria with representatives of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) on Statistical Cooperation in the context of the OECD Accession Discussions and the ESS Membership. The event was organized by the Croatian Bureau of Statistics and took place in Zagreb.

The NSI publishes final data for 2021 on the activities of non-financial enterprises, insurers, specialised investment enterprises, pension companies and funds, and non-profit enterprises in accordance with the Calendar for the dissemination of statistical survey results.

At a seminar for national and regional media, the National Statistical Institute presented Census 2021 data on the ethno-cultural characteristics of the population.

On November 24, 2022, at 2 PM at a seminar for national and regional media, the National Statistical Institute will announce the Census 2021 data on the ethno-cultural characteristics of the population. In addition to attending the event in person, each journalist will have the opportunity to follow the event online, which will be broadcast on the NSI's Facebook and YouTube channels as well as on the Census 2021 website.

On November 17, 2022, at the National Library ‘Ivan Vazov’ in Plovdiv, a specialised training was held with lecturers from the National Statistical Institute (NSI) and the GATE Institute at Sofia University ‘St. Kliment Ohridski’ on the following theme: Practical approaches to detecting disinformation".

On November 16, fourth-year students from the Statistics and Econometrics major at the University of National and World Economy visited the National Statistical Institute. The guests were welcomed by the Director of the Multi-Domain Statistics and User Services Directorate, Ms. Antoaneta Ilkova.

The conference brought together around 250 high-profile participants from all the regions of the world, including politicians, public officials working in policy development, national accounts compilers and academics.

The Peer Review Report on the Bulgarian National Statistical System has been published on the NSI’s and Eurostat’s websites.  The document is aimed at assessing the compliance of the producing the official statistics in Bulgaria with the 16 principles of the European Statistics Code of Practice. The Third Round of the Peer Reviews within the European Statistical System (2021-2023) emphasizes the independence of national statistical offices, the coordination among different authorities and their modernization.
