The President of the Bulgarian NSI Assoc. Prof. Atanas Atanasov, PhD, took part in a meeting of the leaders of the national statistical institutes of Croatia, Romania and Bulgaria with representatives of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) on Statistical Cooperation in the context of the OECD Accession Discussions and the ESS Membership. The event was organized by the Croatian Bureau of Statistics and took place in Zagreb.
During the meeting, the process of accession of the countries to the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development was presented and questions were discussed about the role of the national statistical institutes for it, as well as the coordination of the activities and the opportunities for cooperation between the candidates.
The President of the Bulgarian NSI delivered a presentation of the National Statistical System of Bulgaria - the National Statistical Programme, the national statistical authorities and the activity, which NSI develops as part of the ESS and the accession of the country to the OECD.
The Director General of the Croatian Statistical Bureau Lidija Brković addressed the representatives of the OECD and the delegations of the national statistical institutes of Romania and Bulgaria and thanked them for their presence and support for holding this meeting.
