In relation to a request for technical assistance by the Kosovo Agency of Statistics NSI experts from ‘R&D, Innovation and Information Society’ Department NSI will provide training in the field of Statistics on Information Society. The expert mission is going to take place within the period 26 - 28 May 2015 in Pristine.

On May 19, 2015 in the Official Journal of the European Union was published Regulation (EU) 2015/759 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2015 amending Regulation (EC) No 223/2009 on European statistics.

On 20 and 21 May 2015 in Eurostat, Luxembourg, the 25^th meeting of the European Statistical System Committee (ESSC) will be held and the President of the National Statistical Institute, Mr. Sergey Tsvetarsky, will take part. This is the second meeting for the year out of four regular annual ESSC meetings.

NSI has started the work on the project ‘SIMSTAT - implementation of trial test for micro-data exchange’ implemented in accordance with the Grant agreement with the European Commission № 06151.2014.002-2014.449.

The NSI hosts two days study visit on which experts from the ‘Macroeconomic Statistics’ Directorate will acquaint their Macedonian colleagues with Bulgarian experience in the field of surveying the energy consumption in households by type of use.

After the Liberation the educational cause was important for the young Bulgarian State, which required the introduction of specialized statistical surveys. To meet the need for information on the educational system in 1895 Statistical Office, whose successor is the National Statistical Institute, introduced the first periodic reporting in the country - "Statistics of the schools in the Principality of Bulgaria". Object of observation were children subject of mandatory initial training, students from different types of schools, school buildings, the budget of schools.

The results of the first stage of Action 2 “Development of  an instrument for quality management in the National Statistical Institute” were presented on an official ceremony on the 24^th April 2015 at the  premises of  the NSI.

On 16^th of April 2015, the National Statistical Institute of Bulgaria launches the survey on ‘ICT usage and e-commerce in enterprises in 2015’. The survey is conducted in all EU Member States and follows common methodology under Regulation (EC) No. 808/2004 and is included in the National Statistical Programme for 2015 with mandatory participation.

During the period 15 - 17 April 2015 in Geneva, Switzerland, will be held a workshop, dedicated to the modernisation of statistical production. The workshop is intended for top managers involved in the modernisation of the activity of statistical organisations through the respective coordination, planning and management. At the event the National Statistical Institute will be represented by the Deputy President, Ms. Diana Yancheva.
