Bulgarian Trade with EU for the Period January – August 2010 (preliminary data)
In the period January - August 2010 the Bulgarian exports to the EU increased by 23.7% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 11.7 billion levs.
Bulgarian imports from the EU in the period January - August 2010 increased by 5.4% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 13.5 billion levs.
Employees under Labour Contract and Average Wages and Salaries, Third Quarter of 2010
According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) at the end of September 2010 the number of employees under labour contract decreased by 1.3% as compared to the end of June 2010 and reached to 2.20 millions. In third quarter of 2010 in comparison with the second quarter of 2010 the average monthly wages and salaries decreased by 0.3% getting 638 levs.
Consumer Survey, October 2010
In October 2010 the total consumer confidence indicator increased by 3.0 percentage points in comparison with July, which is due to the increase of confidence among urban inhabitants (by 1.9 percentage points) and rural inhabitants (by 5.6 percentage points).
Research and Development Activity in 2009 (preliminary data)
In 2009 the total amount of the expenditure on research and development activity (R&D) is 361.1 million BGN which increases by 10.8% in comparison with the previous year and the annual growth tendency retains for the period of 2005 - 2009.
Producer Price Indices in Industry, September 2010
Producer Price Index on Domestic Market in September 2010 rose by 0.8% comparing to the previous month, while compared to the same month of 2009 the domestic prices grew by 9.6%. Total Producer Price Index in Industry increased by 0.1% compared to the previous month, compared to the same month of 2009 the prices rose by 9.6%.
Business Conjuncture, October 2010
In October the business conjuncture in the country has improved. The total business climate indicator increases by 1.9 percentage points in comparison with its September level due to the more favorable compared to the previous month business climate in retail trade and service sector.
Trips of Bulgarian Residents Abroad and Arrivals of Visitors from Abroad to Bulgaria in September 2010
In September 2010, the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 354.8 thousand, which was 21.4% less than the number of the trips in September 2009. In September 2010, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 1 018.5 thousand or 8.1% more than the number of trips in the corresponding month of 2009.
Deficit and Debt of General Government Sector in 2009
On the basis of final data of the National Statistical Institute the General Government Sector reported in 2009 government deficit of 3 210.7 million BGN or 4.7% of GDP.
The Government Debt of Bulgaria for 2009 is 10057 million BGN or 14.7% of GDP.
Market Price Indices of Dwellings for the Third Quarter of 2010
The market price index of the dwellings for the third quarter of 2010 compared to the second quarter of 2010 was 98.8%, i.e. the average decrease of the market prices of the dwellings was 1.2%.
Inflation and Consumer Price Indices in September 2010
The consumer price index (CPI) in September 2010 compared to August 2010 was 100.8%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.8%.
The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) in September 2010 compared to August 2010 was 100.2%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.2%.
