Main Labour Force Survey Results, Third Quarter 2010
The employment rate of population of 15 - 64 years of age stood at 60.6% in the third quarter of 2010, declining by 2.5 percentage points as compared to the third quarter of 2009. For the same period the unemployment rate went up by 2.8 percentage points to 9.5%.
Indices of producer prices and means of production in agriculture in third quarter of 2010
The index of producer prices in agriculture increases by 8.5% in the third quarter of 2010 compared to the same quarter of 2009. Increase was registered in the crop production by 10.1%, and in the livestock - by 4.9% compared to the corresponding quarter of previous year.
The index of prices of means of production used in agriculture in the third quarter of 2010 is 1.8% above the same quarter of 2009.
Investment Activity in Industry, October 2010
The investment business inquiry of NSI carried out among industrial enterprises in the second half of October 2010 indicates that the industrial entrepreneurs expect to make 26.4% less investments in the current year in comparison with the previous year.
Activity of Accommodation Establishments for the period July - September 2010
In the third quarter of 2010, 3 349 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed places were functioned in the country.
The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation establishments in the third quarter of 2010 is 9 386.3 thousand, rose by 962.2 thousand (11.4%) compared to same period of 2009.
Gross Domestic Product for the Third Quarter of 2010 – Flash Estimates
According to the seasonally adjusted data, the GDP growth rate in the third quarter of 2010 is 0.3%, compared with the second quarter of the year and 0.2%, compared with the same quarter of the previous year.
Inflation and Consumer Price Indices in October 2010
The consumer price index (CPI) in October 2010 compared to September 2010 was 100.6%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.6%.
The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) in October 2010 compared to September 2010 was 100.2%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.2%.
Construction Production Indices in September 2010
According to the preliminary data of the NSI, the production in section ‘Construction’, calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data registered a decrease by 1.1% in September 2010, compared to the previous month. In September 2010 working day adjusted data showed a drop by 13.1% in the construction production, compared to the same month of 2009.
Turnover Indices in ‘Retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles’ in September of 2010
By preliminary seasonally adjusted data of NSI in September 2010 the turnover in Retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles at constant prices decreased by 0.5 % in comparison with the previous month.
Industrial Production Indices in September 2010
In September 2010 the preliminary data showed that the Industrial Production Index, seasonally adjusted increased by 1.6% as compared to August 2010. The working day adjusted Industrial Production Index rose by 9.3% as compared to the same month of 2009.
Bulgarian Trade with Third Countries for the Period January - September 2010 (preliminary data)
In the period January - September 2010 the Bulgarian exports to third countries increased by 50.6 % compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 8.6 billion levs.
Bulgarian imports from third countries in the first nine months of 2010 increased by 11.6% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 11 billion levs.
In the period January - September 2010 the total value of the exported goods was for 22 billion levs and compared to the corresponding period of 2009 the exports increased by 32.9% while the total imported goods for the same period were for 26.4 billion levs or by 8.1% more compared to the previous year.
