Main Labour Force Survey Results for the Third Quarter of 2020
In the third quarter of 2020 the unemployment rate was 4.8%, and the employment rate of population aged 20 - 64 was 74.6%.
Inflation and Consumer Price Indices in October 2020
The consumer price index in October 2020 compared to September 2020 was 100.6%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.6%.
Bulgaria and EU: Gross Domestic Product, third quarter of 2020 (Flash Estimates)
Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the third quarter of 2020 increased by 11.6% in EU-27 compared to the previous quarter by seasonally adjusted data. For the same period, GDP in Bulgaria increased by 4.3%.
Investment Activity in Industry, October 2020
The investment business inquiry of NSI carried out among industrial enterprises in October 2020 shows that the entrepreneurs expect the investments in the current year to be with 20.9% less in comparison with the previous 2019. The forecasts over 2021 are for a decrease of the volume of investments in industry by 7.6% compared to 2020.

According to the seasonally adjusted data, the GDP has a negative growth of 5.2% in the third quarter of 2020 compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
Employees under Labour Contract and Gross Average Wages and Salaries, Third Quarter of 2020
According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute at the end of September 2020 the number of employees under labour contract increased by 0.4% as compared to the end of June 2020 and reached 2.25 million.
In the third quarter of 2020 in comparison with the second quarter of 2020 the average monthly wages and salaries increased by 2.7% getting 1 373 BGN.
Trade in goods of Bulgaria with EU in the Period January - August 2020 (preliminary data)
In the period January - August 2020 the exports of goods from Bulgarian to the EU decreased by 6.7% in comparison to the same period of 2019 and amounted to 23 245.7 Million BGN while the imports of goods to Bulgaria from the EU dropped by 12.3% and reached 23 222.5 Million BGN.
In August 2020 the exports of goods to the EU decreased by 8.6% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to 2 797.3 Million BGN while the imports of goods dropped by 10.5% and added up to 2 828.5 Million BGN.
Trade in goods of Bulgaria with Third Countries in the Period January - September 2020 (preliminary data)
In the period January - September 2020 the exports of goods from Bulgaria to third countries decreased by 11.2% compared to the same period of 2019 and amounted to 13 639.6 Million BGN while the imports of goods from third countries dropped by 12.1% and added up to 16 636.2 Million BGN.
In the period January - September 2020 the total value of all exported goods to third countries and EU amounted to 40 069.2 Million BGN, which is 7.7% less than the same period of the previous year, while the total value of all imported goods from third countries and EU added up to 43 105.5 Million BGN and dropped by 11.3%.
Activity of accommodation establishments in September 2020
In September 2020, during the continuing epidemic situation, 2 589 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed-places were functioned in the country. The total number of the rooms in them was 102.9 thousand and the bed-places were 227.2 thousand. In comparison with September 2019, the total number of accommodation establishments (functioned during the period) decreased by 11.5%, and the bed-places in them - by 22.9%.
The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation establishments registered in September 2020 was 1 787.2 thousand, or by 42.3% less in comparison with the same month of the previous year.
The total revenues from nights spent in September 2020 reached 88.1 million BGN or by 47.1% less compared to September 2019.
Construction Production Indices in September 2020
According to the preliminary data, in September 2020 the index of production in section ‘Construction’ calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data was 1.5% above the level of the previous month. In September 2020 the working day adjusted index of production in construction decreased by 1.7% in comparison with the same month of 2019.
