The President of NSI Assoc. Prof. Mariana Kotzeva will take part in the sixth, the last meeting of the Sponsorship Group on Communication, which will be held on 13 and 14 October 2011 in Barcelona, Spain.

The topics for discussion at the upcoming forum are related to connection of communication aspects with other Eurostat Sponsorship groups and measuring satisfaction on the visibility of the European Statistical System (ESS).

Final editing of the end report on the work of the group will be done as well.

The President of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) Assoc. Prof. Mariana Kotzeva and the Director of the European, International Cooperation and Coordination Directorate Mrs. Eleonora Avramova will participate in the 97^th Conference of the Directors-General of the National Statistical Institutes (DGINS) to be held in Wiesbaden, Germany, on 26 and 27 September 2011.

Eurostat experts will be on a working visit on the PRODCOM survey (Community Survey of Industrial Production) in the period 19-20 September 2011. The visit is carried out within the framework of the Eurostat Programme for Quality Visits to EU Member States. Among the Eurostat experts is Mr. Thierry Courtel – Head of the PRODCOM team. They will meet their Bulgarian colleagues from the “Structural Business Statistics” Department.

The President of the National Statistical Institute Assoc. Prof. Mariana Kotzeva will take part in the 58^th World Statistics Congress of the International Statistical Institute (ISI), which will be held in Dublin, Ireland, from 21^st to 26^th August 2011.

The official visit of a delegation from the National Statistical Institute, led by the President Dr. Mariana Kotseva, in the Statistical Office of Jordan was completed.

An expert training will be held from 2 to 4 August 2011 in Kiev (Ukraine), requested by the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine. It is organized by the European Commission under the Technical Assistance Information Exchange Instrument (TAIEX) for the implementation of the acquis.

On behalf of NSI trainers will be Elka Atanasova, Director, Macroeconomic Statistics Directorate, and Elena Bakalova, State Expert, Non-financial National Accounts Department to the same Directorate.

From 2 to 5 August 2011 a delegation from the NSI, led by Assoc. Prof. Mariana Kotzeva will pay an official visit to the Department of Statistics of Jordan.

The reason for the visit is the conclusion of an Agreement for cooperation between the National Statistical Institute of Bulgaria and the Department of Statistics of Jordan in the field of statistics.

The National Statistical Institute offers to the attention of its users the new developed websection "Sustainable Development".

The indicators are counted 64, grouped into 10 themes, affecting economic, social, environmental and institutional issues related to sustainable development. Their selection is based on 14 criteria related to data relevance, quality, validity, and others.
