Bulgarian experts will train Ukrainian statisticians in the field of National Accounts

An expert training will be held from 2 to 4 August 2011 in Kiev (Ukraine), requested by the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine. It is organized by the European Commission under the Technical Assistance Information Exchange Instrument (TAIEX) for the implementation of the acquis.
On behalf of NSI trainers will be Elka Atanasova, Director, Macroeconomic Statistics Directorate, and Elena Bakalova, State Expert, Non-financial National Accounts Department to the same Directorate.
During the 3-day expert mission, EU requirements and NSI practice in the filed of Gross Domestic Product – GDP quarterly estimates and its components at constant prices – will be presented.
The main topics of the training will be:
• EC Regulation concerning quarterly GDP data by components
• Methods for quarterly GDP estimates by component at prices of the previous year - calculation of indices of physical volume towards the previous quarter and corresponding quarter of previous year, deflators;
• Re-calculation of the components of GDP at prices of the basic year (use of chain-linked volume measured).
For the second time NSI experts will train colleagues from the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine, which confirms the good cooperation between the two statistical offices. The first expert training was in the field of Business Statistics.
