BNSI President Dr. Mariana Kotzeva presented the 2011 Census express results at the Club of Diplomats-Economists in Sofia
The President of BNSI Dr. Mariana Kotzeva was a special guest of the Club of Diplomats-Economists in Sofia. At the invitation of the Club, whose members are trade and economic counselors of foreign missions based in Sofia, Dr. Kotzeva presented the express results from 2011Census. She talked about the preparation of the successfully conducted in February 2011 statistical survey, the methodology applied and the uniqueness of the results.
Meeting of Presidents of Statistical Institutes of Bulgaria and Romania in Connection with the Population Census 2011
Delegation from the National Institute of Statistics of Romania led by prof. Vergil Voineagu - President of the Romanian statistics, visited Bulgaria. The delegation of the Romanian side included Adviser to the President, Mr. Ilie Dumitrescu, IT general director Mr. Gheorghe Vaida - Muntean and Director of Population Census and demographic statistics Mr. Stefan Trica.
Main results of the Census 2011 carried out by Internet from 1st to 9th of February 2011 in Bulgaria
From 1st until 28th February 2011, the 17th Population and Housing Census is conducted in Bulgaria. This is the first census since the country is a member-state of the EU. For the first time Internet census is applied. Electronic census is accepted with a great interest and an extremely high participation rate is observed.
The total number of persons enumerated by Internet is 3 100 023 which presents 41.2% of the total number of persons living in Bulgaria.
