Construction Production Indices in May 2022
According to the preliminary data, in May 2022, the index of production in section ‘Construction’ calculated on the basis of seasonally adjusted data was 2.0% above the level of the previous month. In May 2022, the calendar adjusted index of production in construction increased by 5.8% in comparison with the same month of 2021.
Turnover Indices in 'Retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles' in May 2022
According to the preliminary seasonally adjusted data in May 2022, the turnover in ‘Retail trade, except motor vehicles and motorcycles’ at constant prices increased by 0.4% compared to the previous month. The calendar adjusted turnover rose by 5.0% compared to the same month of the previous year.
Industrial Production Indices in May 2022
According to the preliminary data in May 2022 the Industrial Production Index, seasonally adjusted, increased by 1.4% compared to April 2022. In May 2022, the calendar adjusted Industrial Production Index rose by 20.2% in comparison with the same month of 2021.
Land use distribution of the Republic of Bulgaria as of 31.12.2021
The National Statistical Institute publishes for the first time its own calculations for the land use distribution of the Republic of Bulgaria based on spatial data from the current cadastral map of the country. The results are presented by territorial units for statistical purposes (NUTS) and administrative-territorial units.
The data are available in the Information System Infostat and will be updated annually, according to the Calendar for the dissemination of the results of statistical surveys.
As of 31 December 2021, the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria is 110 996.84 sq. km. According to the types of durable land use (specific purpose of use) of the land properties, the largest area is occupied by agricultural areas - 54.60% and forest areas - 33.13% of the total area of the country. Urbanized areas cover nearly 5 133.2 sq. km or 4.62% of the country's territory.

Source of the data are the NSI statistical surveys and BNB data. From 2016 annual data is published in a separate application, which is updated every first half year.

During the period 2018 - 2020, 36.2% of the enterprises with 10 or more persons employed carried out an innovation activity.
Producer Price Indices in Industry, May 2022
The Total Producer Price Index in May 2022 increased by 0.4% compared to the previous month and by 38.2% compared to the same month of 2021. The Producer Price Index on the Domestic Market in May 2022 decreased by 0.1% compared to the previous month; compared to the same month of 2021, the domestic prices increased by 47.7%.
Production and Deliveries of Energy Products, April 2022
In April 2022, compared to March 2022, a decrease is reported for the production of solid fuels - by 27.8%, unleaded motor gasoline - by 14.8%, transport diesel - by 19.1% and electricity - by 19.9%. No change in the production of liquefied petroleum gases and natural gas.
In April 2022, compared to March 2022, an increase is reported for the deliveries of liquefied petroleum gases - by 6.3%. A decrease is reported for the deliveries of solid fuels - by 27.8%, unleaded motor gasoline - by 41.5%, transport diesel - by 26.4%, natural gas - by 42.3% and electricity - by 22.6%.
Business Conjuncture, June 2022
In June 2022, the total business climate indicator increases by 1.4 percentage points compared to the previous month as an improvement of the indicator is observed in industry, construction and retail trade.
Trips of Bulgarian Residents Abroad and Arrivals of Visitors from Abroad to Bulgaria in May 2022
In May 2022, the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 729.4 thousand or by 119.7% above the registered in May 2021.
In May 2022, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 803.3 thousand or by 119.7% more in comparison with May 2021. An increase in the trips with all observed purposes was registered. Transit passes through the country were 37.4% (300.6 thousand) of all visits of foreigners to Bulgaria.
