Producer Price Indices in Industry, June 2022
The Total Producer Price Index in June 2022 increased by 3.4% compared to the previous month and by 41.4% compared to the same month of 2021. The Producer Price Index on the Domestic Market in June 2022 increased by 2.4% compared to the previous month; compared to the same month of 2021, the domestic prices increased by 49.3%.
Business Conjuncture, July 2022
In July 2022, the total business climate indicator remains approximately to its level from the previous month. An increase of the indicator is observed in industry and retail trade, in service sector preserves its level from June, and in construction a reduction is registered.
Trips of Bulgarian Residents Abroad and Arrivals of Visitors from Abroad to Bulgaria in June 2022
In June 2022, the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 680.6 thousand or by 48.4% above the registered in June 2021.
In June 2022, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 1 131.9 thousand or by 52.4% more in comparison with June 2021. An increase in the trips with all observed purposes was registered. Transit passes through the country were 34.9% (394.6 thousand) of all visits of foreigners to Bulgaria.
Deaths in the Second Quarter of 2022 (preliminary data)
The number of deaths in the second quarter of 2022 (14th - 26th week) is 24 910 and the crude mortality rate is 14.6‰. Mortality among males (15.8‰) is higher than among females (13.6‰). Compared to the same period of the previous year, the number of deaths has decreased by 9 702, or 28.0%.
Crimes, accused persons and persons convicted in 2021
The trials of 25 988 committed crimes were ended with penalties (effective and conditional) in 2021. Convicted persons with inflicted penalties in 2021 were 24 121.
Inflation and Consumer Price Indices in June 2022
The consumer price index in June 2022 compared to May 2022 was 100.9%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.9%.
Trade in goods of Bulgaria with EU in the Period January - April 2022 (preliminary data)
In the period January - April 2022, the exports of goods from Bulgaria to the EU increased by 36.7% compared to the same period of 2021 and amounted to 19 561.9 million BGN, while the imports of goods to Bulgaria from the EU grew by 29.2% and reached 18 296.0 million BGN.
In April 2022, the exports to the EU increased by 36.1% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to 5 358.1 million BGN, while the imports grew by 23.7% and added up to 4 454.0 million BGN.
Trade in goods of Bulgaria with Third Countries in the Period January - May 2022 (preliminary data)
In the period January - May 2022, the exports of goods from Bulgaria to third countries increased by 29.5% compared to the same period of 2021 and amounted to 11 698.0 million BGN, while the imports of goods from third countries grew by 60.8% and added up to 18 400.3 million BGN.
In the period January - May 2022, the total value of all exported goods to third countries and the EU amounted to 37 067.2 million BGN, which is 38.8% more than the same period of the previous year, while the total value of all imported goods from third countries and the EU added up to 41 702.5 million BGN and grew by 42.3%.
Activity of accommodation establishments in May 2022
In May 2022, 2 373 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed-places, functioned in the country. The total number of rooms in them was 94.2 thousand and the bed-places were 207.2 thousand. In comparison with May 2021, the total number of accommodation establishments (functioned during the period) increased by 16.2% and the bed-places in them - by 34.9%.
The total number of nights spent in all accommodation establishments registered in May 2022 was 1 263.1 thousand, or by 72.6% more in comparison with the same month of the previous year.
The total revenues from nights spent in May 2022 reached 75.6 million BGN, as 38.1 million BGN were from foreigners and 37.5 million BGN - from Bulgarians.
Additional questionnaire under the Household Budget Survey in the First Quarter of 2022
In the first quarter of 2022, the National Statistical Institute for the second time conducted an additional survey to the Household Budget Survey in order to carry out quarterly monitoring of changes in the living conditions of households as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, under ‘Income and Living Conditions (ILC) - Statistical infrastructure under IESS - SILC 2022 module - 2021 and 2022 Infra-annual data collection’ project, the implementation of which is in accordance with Grant Agreement with the European Commission No. 101052273 - 2021-BG-ILC-SILC. For the study, 5 687 persons aged 16 and over from 3 052 households were surveyed. The additional survey is an initiative of Eurostat and is conducted according to a uniform methodology within the framework of the European survey Infra-annual data collection on living conditions (IALC).
