The consumer price index in October 2019 compared to September 2019 was 100.8%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.8%.

In the period January - August 2019 the Bulgarian exports to the EU grew by 3.6% compared to the same period of 2018 and amounted to 25 790.2 Million BGN while the imports from the EU increased by 2.4% and reached 26 970.6 Million BGN.

In August 2019 the exports to the EU decreased by 4.0% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to 3 160.6 Million BGN while the imports increased by 5.2% and added up to 3 127.9 Million BGN.

In the period January - September 2019 the exports of goods from Bulgaria to third countries increased by 3.4% compared to the same period of 2018 and amounted to 13 613.5 Million BGN while the imports of goods from third countries decreased by 6.9% and added up to 15 387.9 Million BGN.

In the period January - September 2019 the total value of all exported goods to third countries and EU amounted to 42 636.7 Million BGN, which is 3.2% more than the same period of 2018, while the total value of all imported goods from third countries and EU added up to 45 599.0 Million BGN and dropped by 1.1%.

According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute at the end of September 2019 the number of employees under labour contract decreased by 1.7% as compared to the end of June 2019 and reached 2.31 million.

In the third quarter of 2019 in comparison with the second quarter of 2019 the average monthly wages and salaries decreased by 0.9% getting 1 249 BGN.

In September 2019, 2 924 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed-places were functioned in the country. The total number of the rooms in them was 131.6 thousand and the bed-places were 294.7 thousand. In comparison with September 2018, the total number of accommodation establishments (functioned during the period) increased by 2.9%, and the bed-places in them - by 0.8%.

The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation establishments registered in September 2019 was 3 097.1 thousand, or by 2.3% less in comparison with the same month of the previous year.

The total revenues from nights spent in September 2019 reached 166.7 million BGN or by 1.5% more compared to September 2018.

According to the preliminary data, in September 2019 the index of production in section ‘Construction’ calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data was 1.1% above the level of the previous month. In September 2019 the working day adjusted index of production in construction increased by 6.9% in comparison with the same month of 2018.

According to the preliminary seasonally adjusted data in September 2019 the turnover in ‘Retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles’ at constant prices increased by 0.3% compared to the previous month.

According to the preliminary data in September 2019 the Industrial Production Index, seasonally adjusted, increased by 0.3% as compared to August 2019. In September 2019 the working day adjusted Industrial Production Index decreased by 0.1% in comparison with the same month of 2018.

In October 2019, the total consumer confidence indicator increases by 1.1 percentage points in comparison with July, as for the urban population the increase is 1.0 percentage point and for the rural population - 1.6 percentage points.

According to preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute in the third quarter of 2019 the number of newly built residential buildings was 740 and the newly built dwellings in them were 2 892. Compared to the third quarter of 2018 the buildings were by 280 more (or by 60.9%) and the newly built dwellings in them increased by 948 or by 48.8%.
