Trade in goods of Bulgaria with EU in the Period January - May 2021 (preliminary data)
In the period January - May 2021 the exports of goods from Bulgaria to the EU increased by 23.4% compared to the same period of 2020 and amounted to 17 616.9 million BGN while the imports of goods to Bulgaria from the EU grew by 25.0% and reached 17 879.5 million BGN.
In May 2021 the exports to the EU increased by 31.4% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to 3 363.2 million BGN while the imports grew by 50.4% and added up to 3 682.7 million BGN.
Trade in goods of Bulgaria with Third Countries in the Period January - June 2021 (preliminary data)
In the period January - June 2021 the exports of goods from Bulgaria to third countries increased by 14.4% compared to the same period of 2020 and amounted to 10 580.7 million BGN while the imports of goods from third countries grew by 24.2% and added up to 13 970.7 million BGN.
In the period January - June 2021 the total value of all exported goods to third countries and EU amounted to 31 996.5 million BGN, which is 20.8% more than the same period of the previous year, while the total value of all imported goods from third countries and EU added up to 35 606.4 million BGN and grew by 24.8%.
Activity of accommodation establishments in June 2021
In June 2021, during the continuing epidemic situation, 2 572 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed-places, functioned in the country. The total number of the rooms in them was 110.9 thousand and the bed-places were 244.7 thousand.
The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation establishments registered in June 2021 was 1 646.7 thousand.
The total revenues from nights spent in June 2021 reached 82.5 million BGN, as 41.6 million BGN were from foreigners and 40.9 million BGN - from Bulgarians.
Construction Production Indices in June 2021
According to the preliminary data, in June 2021 the index of production in section ‘Construction’ calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data was 1.5% above the level of the previous month. In June 2021, the working day adjusted index of production in construction increased by 4.7% in comparison with the same month of 2020.
Turnover Indices in 'Retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles' in June 2021
According to the preliminary seasonally adjusted data in June 2021 the turnover in ‘Retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles’ at constant prices increased by 1.5% compared to the previous month. The calendar adjusted turnover rose by 22.7% compared to the same month of the previous year.
Industrial Production Indices in June 2021
According to the preliminary data in June 2021 the Industrial Production Index, seasonally adjusted, decreased by 0.1% compared to May 2021.
In June 2021, the calendar adjusted Industrial Production Index rose by 9.7% in comparison with the same month of 2020.
Newly Built Residential Buildings and Dwellings Completed in the Second Quarter of 2021 (preliminary data)
According to preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute in the second quarter of 2021 the number of newly built residential buildings was 838 and the newly built dwellings in them were 4 058. Compared to the second quarter of 2020 the buildings were by 81 more (or by 10.7%) and the newly built dwellings in them increased by 678 or by 20.1%.
Consumer Survey, July 2021
In July 2021, the total consumer confidence indicator increases by 3.5 percentage points compared to its April level. An increase of consumer confidence among both urban and rural inhabitants - by 3.1 and 4.7 percentage points, respectively, is reported.
Building Permits Issued and Construction of New Buildings Started in the Second Quarter of 2021
In the second quarter of 2021, the municipal authorities issued building permits for the construction of 1 745 residential buildings with 9 952 dwellings, 26 administrative buildings/offices and 1 214 other buildings. The construction of 1 410 residential buildings with 5 993 dwellings, 21 administrative buildings/offices and 642 other buildings was started.

Similar to statistics of human population, business demography describes the life cycle of the enterprises - their birth, survival and development until death. More specifically business demography supplies data on number of active enterprises, number of newborn enterprises, proportion of survived enterprises, number of dead enterprises and data on changes in employment figures at specific moment in time.
