The National Statistical Institute presents to the users of statistical information annual electronic (on CD-ROM) publication Foreign Trade of the Republic of Bulgaria 2009. The publication contains information on exports and imports from/to Bulgaria for 2008.

 

The issue consists of 3 sections:

The National Statistical Institute presents to the users of statistical information annual electronic (on CD-ROM) publication Book-publishing and Press 2008.

The publication contains statistical information on the development of publishing activity in Bulgaria by main indicators for 2008. Data by some indicators, such as: titles; circulation; average circulation of books, pamphlets, newspapers, magazines and bulletins for the 1960 - 2008 period, are also included. In the publication are also included methological notes and brief analysis.

The National Statistical Institute presents the issued annual bilingual (Bulgarian-English) publication Education in the Republic of Bulgaria 2009 to the attention of users interested in statistical editions containing information in the field of social statistics.

The publication Education in the Republic of Bulgaria 2009 contains general data from the carried out four annual comprehensive statistical surveys, which characterizing the activity of educational institutions in Bulgaria for the 2004 - 2008 period.

The National Statistical Institute presents the annual publication ‘Tourism 2008’ to users with an interest in statistical information in the field of tourism (in a printed version and on a CD). The publication is bilingual (Bulgarian/English) and contains statistical data on the development of tourism in Bulgaria. Basic statistical data for the years 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000 and the period 2006 – 2008 are included, along with methodological notes.

The National Statistical Institute presents to users of statistical information annual electronic bilingual publication Crimes and Persons Convicted 2008, containing data on crimes with penalty inflicted. The issue includes data about the activity of regional, district and martial courts in penal cases of a general, private and administrative nature. Comparable data on crimes with penalty inflicted, as well as persons convicted with sentences in force for 1989 - 2008 period are also shown.

The National Statistical Institute informs the users of statistical information that the new electronic publication ‘Supply and Use Tables’ is already on sale.

The publication contains Supply and Use tables for year 2004, prepared by NSI. As the Tables are an integrated part of Annual National Accounts, they present in a final and balanced version the economical categories into the GDP, structured in details by groups of products and services, types of production activities and types of categories of final demand.

National Statistical Institute informs data users that the fourth volume of Statistics Journal, 2008 is issued. The following articles are included:

• Elementary Index Number Theory as a Safe Foundation of a System of National Accounts - author Prof. Venetz Tzonev.

The bulletin Employment and Unemployment No. 1/2009 is a quarterly electronic publication of the National Statistical Institute, presenting the results from the Labour Force Survey. The Labour force survey is a sample statistical survey on households for examination of the economic activity of the population aged 15 years and over.

The methodology of the survey has been developed according to ILO and Eurostat recommendations.

The National Statistical Institute annual publication Bulgaria 2008 - Statistical Panorama (in Bulgarian and summary in English) is available to users of statistical information. In the issue are analyzed the demographic, social and economic development of the Republic of Bulgaria in 2008. Comparisons with the preceding years are made and the tendencies of the development and the current structural changes are considered.
