In July 2019, the total consumer confidence indicator increases by 0.8 percentage points compared to its level 3 months ago, which is due entirely to the increased confidence among the urban population.

According to preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute in the second quarter of 2019 the number of newly built residential buildings was 632 and the newly built dwellings in them were 2 250. Compared to the second quarter of 2018 the buildings were by 60 more (or by 10.5%) and the newly built dwellings in them decreased by 34 or by 1.5%.
According to the preliminary data, in June 2019 the index of production in section ‘Construction’ calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data was 0.5% below the level of the previous month. In June 2019 the working day adjusted index of production in construction increased by 1.5% in comparison with the same month of 2018.
According to the preliminary seasonally adjusted data in June 2019 the turnover in ‘Retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles’ at constant prices kept the level of the previous month.
According to the preliminary data in June 2019 the Industrial Production Index, seasonally adjusted, decreased by 1.9% as compared to May 2019. In June 2019 the working day adjusted Industrial Production Index fell by 3.6% in comparison with the same month of 2018.
In the second quarter of 2019, the municipal authorities issued building permits for construction of 1 591 residential buildings with 8 456 dwellings, of 31 administrative buildings/offices and 1 168 other buildings. The construction of 1 203 residential buildings with 5 650 dwellings, of 24 administrative buildings/offices and 622 other buildings was started.
Similar to statistics of human population, business demography describes the life cycle of the enterprises; their birth, survival and development until death. More specifically business demography supplies data on number of active enterprises, number of newborn enterprises, proportion of survived enterprises and data on employment figure’s changes at specific moment in time.
In May 2019 compared to April 2019 an increase is reported for the production of solid fuels - by 24.5% and transport diesel - by 4.5%. During the same period, a decrease is reported for the production of unleaded motor gasoline - by 3.6% and electricity - by 16.5%. No change for the production of liquefied petroleum gases and natural gas.
In May 2019 compared to April 2019 an increase is reported for the deliveries of solid fuels - by 25.3% and liquefied petroleum gases - by 7.7%. A decrease is reported for the deliveries of unleaded motor gasoline - by 8.2%, transport diesel - by 10.4%, natural gas - by 18.4% and electricity - by 7.3%.
Total Producer Price Index in June 2019 decreases by 1.1% compared to the previous month; compared to the same month of 2018 the prices rose by 0.9%. Producer Price Index on Domestic Market in June 2019 fell by 0.3% compared to the previous month; compared to the same month of 2018 the domestic prices grew by 2.6%.
In June 2019, the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 717.1 thousand or by 5.9% above the registered in June 2018. The trips with other purposes (as a guest, education and visit the cultural and sport events) in June 2019 composed the greatest share of the total number of trips of Bulgarian residents abroad - 41.6%, followed by those with holiday and recreation purpose - 35.6%, and with professional purpose - 22.8%.
In June 2019, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 1 537.0 thousand or by 0.9% less in comparison with June 2018. In June 2019, the predominant share of the visits with holiday and recreation purpose was 50.1%, followed by trips with other purposes - 36.0%, and with professional purpose - 13.9%.
