In February 2020, the total business climate indicator decreases by 0.8 percentage points compared to the previous month as a result of the more unfavourable business climate in retail trade and service sector.

In January 2020, the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 423.1 thousand or by 5.1% above the registered in January 2019. The trips with other purposes (as a guest, education and visit the cultural and sport events) in January 2020 composed the greatest share of the total number of trips of Bulgarian residents abroad - 48.0%, followed by those with holiday and recreation purposes - 27.1%, and with professional purpose - 24.9%.
In January 2020, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 604.6 thousand or by 9.1% more in comparison with January 2019. In January 2020, the predominant share of the visits with holiday and recreation purpose was 42.9%, followed by trips with other purposes - 40.3%, and with professional purpose - 16.8%.
According to the preliminary data for the fourth quarter of 2019 the total turnover index in section ‘Transportation, storage and post’, calculated on the basis of seasonally adjusted data increased by 1.9% compared to the third quarter of 2019. In section ‘Information and communication’ the turnover index grew by 2.3%.
In the fourth quarter of 2019, 1 302.5 thousand Bulgarian residents made tourist trips. The majority (81.1%) of them travelled only within the country, 17.1% - only abroad and 1.8% - both in the country and abroad. Compared to the same quarter of 2018 the total number of the travelled persons aged 15 and over increased by 18.9%.
The total income average per household member during the fourth quarter of 2019 is 1 770 BGN and increases by 13.7% compared to the same quarter of 2018.
The total expenditure average per household member during the fourth quarter of 2019 is 1 670 BGN and increases by 10.7% in comparison to the same quarter of 2018.
The consumption of main food products average per household member during the fourth quarter of 2019 is without considerable change compared to the same quarter of 2018.
Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the fourth quarter of 2019 increased by 0.1% in the EU-27 compared to the previous quarter by seasonally adjusted data. For the same period, GDP in Bulgaria increased by 0.7%.
The producer price index in agriculture in the fourth quarter of 2019 increased by 2.8% in comparison with the same quarter of 2018. The crop output index increased by 0.9% and the animal output index increased by 12.6%. In comparison with previous year, the prices of agricultural output went up by 1.6% as the decrease in crop output price index is by 0.4% and in animal output price index increase is by 11.7%.
The index of prices of goods and services currently consumed in agriculture in the fourth quarter of 2019 was by 1.4% higher compared to the same quarter of previous year and by 2.1% compared to 2018.
In the fourth quarter of 2019 the unemployment rate was 4.1%, and the employment rate of population aged 20 - 64 was 74.9%.
According to the seasonally adjusted data, the GDP growth rate in the fourth quarter of 2019 is 3.5% compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
According to the preliminary data of the NSI, the consumer price index in January 2020 compared to December 2019 was 100.9%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.9%.
