Inflation and Consumer Price Indices in July 2019

According to the seasonally adjusted data, the GDP growth rate in the second quarter of 2019 is 3.3% compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute at the end of June 2019 the number of employees under labour contract increased by 1.5% as compared to the end of March 2019 and reached 2.35 million.
In the second quarter of 2019 in comparison with the first quarter of 2019 the average monthly wages and salaries increased by 4.3% getting 1 260 BGN.
In the period January - May 2019 the Bulgarian exports to the EU grew by 6.9% compared to the same period of 2018 and amounted to 15 925.9 Million BGN while the imports from the EU increased by 2.7% and reached 16 809.6 Million BGN.
In May 2019 the exports to the EU increased by 5.1% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to 3 176.8 Million BGN while the imports grew by 4.5% and added up to 3 512.0 Million BGN.
In the period January - June 2019 the exports of goods from Bulgaria to third countries increased by 9.1% compared to the same period of 2018 and amounted to 8 828.7 Million BGN while the imports of goods from third countries decreased by 1.4% and added up to 10 426.8 Million BGN.
In the period January - June 2019 the total value of all exported goods to third countries and EU amounted to 27 840.5 Million BGN, which is 6.3% more than the same period of 2018, while the total value of all imported goods from third countries and EU added up to 30 508.9 Million BGN and grew by 0.4%.
In June 2019, 3 018 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed-places were functioned in the country. The total number of the rooms in them was 135.2 thousand and the bed-places were 304.1 thousand. In comparison with June 2018, the total number of accommodation establishments (functioned during the period) increased by 4.4%, and the bed-places in them - by 4.9%.
The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation establishments registered in June 2019 was 4 036.7 thousand, or by 0.7% less in comparison with the same month of the previous year.
The total revenues from nights spent in June 2019 reached 205.4 million BGN or by 2.6% more compared to June 2018.
In July 2019, the total consumer confidence indicator increases by 0.8 percentage points compared to its level 3 months ago, which is due entirely to the increased confidence among the urban population.
According to preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute in the second quarter of 2019 the number of newly built residential buildings was 632 and the newly built dwellings in them were 2 250. Compared to the second quarter of 2018 the buildings were by 60 more (or by 10.5%) and the newly built dwellings in them decreased by 34 or by 1.5%.
According to the preliminary data, in June 2019 the index of production in section ‘Construction’ calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data was 0.5% below the level of the previous month. In June 2019 the working day adjusted index of production in construction increased by 1.5% in comparison with the same month of 2018.
According to the preliminary seasonally adjusted data in June 2019 the turnover in ‘Retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles’ at constant prices kept the level of the previous month.
