The aim of the Kick-off meeting is to inform the stakeholders and the general public with the objective, purpose and mandatory results of the project. Bulgaria will be represented by Mr. Sergey Tsvetarsky, President of BNSI and Junior Member State Partner Project Leader, Mr. Bogdan Bogdanov PhD, Deputy President of NSI and Component Leader 3 Statistics on income and living conditions and the Resident Twinning Adviser Mr. Arslan Ahmedov.
The meeting will be opened by Mr.Tahir Budagov, Chairman of the State Statistical Committee, the Republic of Azerbaijan, beneficiary of the twinning project. It will also take part the Head of EU Delegation to Republic of Azerbaijan H.E. Ms. Ambassador Malena Mard, H.E German Ambassador Ms. Heidrun Tempel, Mr. Dieter Sarreither, President of the Federal Statistical Office of Germany, Mr. Youri Skaskevitch form the International Cooperation Department in Eurostat. On behalf of the Republic of Azerbaijan will attend the Minister of Economy and the Chairman of the Committee for economy, industry and entrepreneurship of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Milli Meclis.
On January 28, 2016 in Baku will be held the first Steering Committee Meeting of Twinning project AZ/14/ENP/ST/32. It will be made monitoring under the implementation of the objectives up to now, outlining future joint activities and will be considered and endorsement first quarterly report. The Steering Committee has several main tasks: to monitor progress in accordance with the agreed schedules and performance indicators, to discuss and verify the achievement of the outputs and mandatory results and discuss actions to be undertaken of the twinning project.
The implementation period of the Twinning project AZ/14/ENP/ST/32 ‘Support to the State Statistical Committee in harmonisation of the National Statistics System of the Republic of Azerbaijan in line with European standards’ is 24 months and the total value amounted to EUR 1.178.763.
