The theme of this year’s conference is “Charting New Frontiers of Official Statistics”. The event is hosted by Eurostat and Statistics Estonia.
During the conference various topics related to the future and development of the European Statistical System (ESS) were discussed. Among the subjects covered were the need for new data services that align with stakeholders’ needs and emerging technological trends, as well as new and effective channels for interactions with users. As key factors in achieving these priorities were highlighted the good cooperation between NSIs and academia, the private and public sectors, as well as the effective European coordination for the provision of high quality statistics.
The DGINS conference is the most important forum in the European Union for discussing new opportunities and challenges in the production of official statistics, sharing good practices and knowledge within the framework of the European Statistical System. The event is held annually in one of the EU Member States.
On 24-25 October, the 57th regular meeting of the European Statistical System Committee (ESSC) took place. At the meeting were discussed the follow-up of the third round of peer reviews, the ESS innovation agenda and was presented a draft outline of an ESS common position on the future and strategic priorities of European statistics.
