The agenda items include the report on the progress and implementation of the “GDP and Beyond” Eurostat Action Plan in 2012 - 2014, as well as a new Action Plan for 2015 - 2017 (2020); report of the 46th session of the UN Statistical Commission; reports from the Directors’ Groups; report from the Presidency (Latvia); report on work activities of the European Statistical Advisory Committee (ESAC); draft agenda of the statistical session and presentation by the host country of the DGINS conference to be held in Lisbon, Portugal, September 2015.
ESSC members will provide their opinion on a number of strategic issues related to the implementation of the ESS Vision 2020, the recommendation from the EMOS Board to nominate university master programmes with the EMOS label; the Annual Work Programme 2016 and priority setting.
The “Comitology” part of the agenda includes five acts in regard to the harmonised index of consumer prices, the common classification of territorial units for statistics (NUTS), energy statistics and structural business statistics.
The ESSC will be invited to discuss the implications of the amended Regulation (EC) No 223/2009 on European Statistics, both at national and European level.
ESSC is chaired by Eurostat and attended by the Heads of National Statistical Institutes of the EU Member States and representatives of ECB, OECD and EFTA countries.
