Building Permits Issued and Construction of New Buildings Started in the Fourth Quarter of 2016
In the fourth quarter of 2016, the municipal authorities issued building permits for construction of 1 122 residential buildings with 5 348 dwellings, of 32 administrative buildings/offices and 1 538 other buildings. The construction of 720 residential buildings with 3 785 dwellings, of 20 administrative buildings/offices and 536 other buildings was started.
Production and Deliveries of Energy Products, November 2016
In November 2016 compared to October 2016 an increase is reported for the production of unleaded motor gasoline by 1.8%, transport diesel - by 2.2%, natural gas - by 37.5% and electricity - by 5.6%. At the same time a decrease is reported for the production of solid fuels by 1.7%. No change for the production of liquefied petroleum gases.
In November 2016 compared to October 2016 an increase is reported for the deliveries of transport diesel by 7.8%, natural gas - by 22.3% and electricity - by 10.4%. At the same time a decrease is reported for the deliveries of solid fuels by 1.3% and unleaded motor gasoline - by 17.8%. No change for the deliveries of liquefied petroleum gases.
Producer Price Indices in Industry, December 2016
Total Producer Price Index in December 2016 increased by 1.5% compared to the previous month; compared to the same month of 2015 the prices rose by 2.6%. Producer Price Index on Domestic Market in November 2016 grew by 0.7% compared to the previous month; compared to the same month of 2015 the domestic prices ran up by 0.6%.
Business Conjuncture, January 2017
In January 2017 the total business climate indicator increases by 0.8 percentage points in comparison with December 2016 which is due to the improved business climate in industry and service sector.
Trips of Bulgarian Residents Abroad and Arrivals of Visitors from Abroad to Bulgaria in December 2016
In December 2016, the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 397.3 thousand or by 28.6% above the registered in December 2015. The trips with other purposes (as a guest, education and visit the cultural and sport events) in December 2016 composed the greatest share of the total number of trips of Bulgarian residents abroad - 53.4%, followed by the trips with professional purpose - 24.2%, and with holiday and recreation purpose - 22.4%.
In December 2016, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 531.1 thousand or by 20.4% more in comparison with December 2015. An increase was registered in the trips by all observed purposes: with professional purpose - by 34.0%, with holiday and recreation purpose - by 19.9%, and with other purposes - by 15.8%.
Activity of accommodation establishments in November 2016
In November 2016, 1 811 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed-places were functioned in the country. The total number of the rooms in them was 53.0 thousand and the bed-places were 107.0 thousand. In comparison with November 2015 the total number of accommodation establishments (functioned during the period) decreased with 4.7%, while the bed-places in them remained at the same level.
The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation establishments registered in November 2016 was 643.6 thousand, or by 10.5% more in comparison with the same month of the previous year.
The total revenues from nights spent in November 2016 reached 33.3 million BGN or by 14.0% more compared to November 2015.
Inflation and Consumer Price Indices in December 2016
The consumer price index in December 2016 compared to November 2016 was 100.6%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.6%.
Bulgarian Trade with EU in the Period January - October 2016 (preliminary data)
In the period January - October 2016 the Bulgarian exports to the EU grew by 6.2% compared to the same period of 2015 and amounted to 25 925.6 Million BGN while the imports from the EU increased by 2.0% and reached 27 779.6 Million BGN.
In October 2016 the exports to the EU grew by 7.5% in comparison with the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to 2 891.1 Million BGN while the imports added up to 3 242.9 Million BGN and grew by 5.8%.
Bulgarian Trade with Third Countries in the Period January - November 2016 (preliminary data)
In the period January - November 2016 the Bulgarian exports to third countries decreased by 8.1% compared to the same period of 2015 and amounted to 13 422.6 Million BGN while the imports dropped by 8.4% and added up to 15 518.0 Million BGN.
In the period January - November 2016 the total value of all exported goods (both for third countries and EU) amounted to 42 128.9 Million BGN and in comparison with the corresponding period of the previous year the exports increased by 1.5% while the total value of all imported goods added up to 46 398.6 Million BGN and dropped by 1.8%.
Construction Production Indices in November 2016
According to the preliminary data, in November 2016 the index of production in section ‘Construction’ calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data was 4.7% above the level of the previous month. In November 2016 the working day adjusted index of production in construction decreased by 3.5% in comparison with the same month of 2015.
