Newly Built Residential Buildings and Dwellings Completed in the Third Quarter of 2016 (preliminary data)
According to preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute in the third quarter of 2016 the number of newly built residential buildings was 476 and the newly built dwellings in them were 2 379. Compared to the third quarter of 2015 the buildings were 101 less (or 17.5%), and the newly built dwellings in them decreased by 77 or by 3.1%.

In October 2016 the total consumer confidence indicator preserves approximately to its July level.
Building Permits Issued and Construction of New Buildings Started in the Third Quarter of 2016
In the third quarter of 2016, the municipal authorities issued building permits for construction of 1 183 residential buildings with 4 937 dwellings, of 51 administrative buildings/offices and 1 170 other buildings. The construction of 830 residential buildings with 3 144 dwellings, of 32 administrative buildings/offices and 585 other buildings was started.
Research and Development Activity in 2015 (preliminary data)
In 2015, the total amount of expenditure on research and development activity (R&D) was 847.2 million BGN which was 27.4% more than the previous year.
Production and Deliveries of Energy Products, August 2016
In August 2016 compared to July 2016 an increase is reported for the production of natural gas by 16.7% and electricity - by 1.0%. At the same time a decrease is reported for the production of solid fuels by 0.2%, liquefied petroleum gases - by 18.2%, unleaded motor gasoline - by 5.8%, and transport diesel - by 16.7%.
In August 2016 compared to July 2016 an increase is reported for the deliveries of liquefied petroleum gases by 2.2% and natural gas - by 2.5%. At the same time a decrease is reported for the deliveries of solid fuels by 0.2%, unleaded motor gasoline - by 17.0%, transport diesel - by 19.3%, and electricity - by 0.8%.
Producer Price Indices in Industry, September 2016
Total Producer Price Index in September 2016 increased by 0.5% compared to the previous month; compared to the same month of 2015 the prices went down by 2.0%. Producer Price Index on Domestic Market in September 2016 rose by 0.2% compared to the previous month; compared to the same month of 2015 the domestic prices fell by 2.4%.
Business Conjuncture, October 2016
In October 2016 the total business climate indicator decreases by 1.3 percentage points in comparison with the previous month. More unfavourable business climate is registered in industry and retail trade, while in construction preserves approximately to its September level. Only in service sector the business conjuncture is improved.
Trips of Bulgarian Residents Abroad and Arrivals of Visitors from Abroad to Bulgaria in September 2016
In September 2016, the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 510.3 thousand or by 13.2% above the registered in September 2015. The trips with other purposes (as a guest, education and visit the cultural and sport events) in September 2016 composed the greatest share of the total number of trips of Bulgarian residents abroad - 46.8%, followed by the trips with holiday and recreation purpose - 33.0%, and with professional purpose - 20.2%.
In September 2016, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 1 192.3 thousand or by 12.9% more in comparison with September 2015. An increase was registered in the trips by all observed purposes: with professional purpose - by 31.1%, with holiday and recreation purpose - by 15.5%, and with other purposes - by 3.7%.
Deficit and Debt of General Government Institutional Sector in the Republic of Bulgaria in 2015
According to the final data of the National Statistical Institute the General Government Institutional Sector reported in 2015 a deficit of 1 490 million BGN or 1.7% of GDP.
The Government Debt of Bulgaria for 2015 is 23 049 million BGN or 26.0% of GDP.
Inflation and Consumer Price Indices in September 2016
The consumer price index in September 2016 compared to August 2016 was 99.5%, i.e. the monthly inflation was -0.5%.
