Data description | The survey provides data on industrial goods manufactured and sold, as well as industrial services rendered, according to the requirements of Council Regulation N 3924/91, Regulation (EU) 2019/2152 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 November 2019 and Commission implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/1197 of 30 July 2020. Indicators: volume of total production, volume of total production on the basis of contract processing, total fee paid to the subcontractor, fee paid to the subcontractor by the foreign principal, volume of sold production,value of sold production, volume of production sold on the domestic market, value of production sold on the domestic market, volume of sold production on the basis of contract processing (report by the principal), value of sold production on the basis of contract processing (report by the principal), volume of production sold on the domestic market on the basis of contract processing (report by the principal), value of production sold on the domestic market on the basis of contract processing (report by the principal). The annual data at the geographical level of the whole country: · at the level of a product specified in the Nomenclature of Industrial Production (PRODCOM.BG); · aggregated by product subcategories of the Classification of Products by Economic Activities (CPA.BG 2015). |
Classification system | · The Nomenclature of Industrial Production (PRODCOM.BG) is identical to Prodcom List - the List of industrial products of the EU. It is revised each year reflecting the latest changes and modifications made in the Prodcom List. The sampling design covers exhaustively all non-financial enterprises manufacturing industrial commodities and/or rendering industrial services with a specified threshold of receipts from sales of industrial production and industrial services. The sample model ensures 90% coverage of sold production in terms of value at the national level for each NACE.BG 2008 class. |
Sampling error | Sampling errors do not occur in the survey. The sample design applied is a cut-off sample, which means that it is a full coverage survey with a cut-off threshold. |

Cost and burden | |
The survey is conducted according to the EU recommendations on statistical burden reduction on respondents and in accordance with the Strategy for development of the National Statistical System 2021-2027. For products within NACE Rev.2 class 10.51 "Operation of dairies and cheese making" is used data collected by the Ministry of Agriculture, Agrostatistics Department. For data collection an on-line based information system "Business Statistics" is used. The system saves time and efforts and makes participation in the survey more efficient. During the reporting campaign methodological and technical assistance to respondents is ensured. The workload on respondents is studied by measuring time spent. A question on the time in minutes necessary for data preparation and completion of the questionnaire is included. | |

Activity of Non Financial Enterprises for 2023 (preliminary data)
Annual reports on their activity for 2023 were submitted at the National Statistical Institute (NSI) by 461 819 non-financial enterprises, which was 2.7% more compared to 2022. The number of persons employed in full-time equivalent in the non-financial enterprises was 2 217 960 or 1.4% more than the previous year. The non-financial enterprises generated 288 962 million BGN of the value of output at current prices and reported a positive financial result of 35 809 million BGN (the data are preliminary).

Activity of Non Financial Enterprises for 2022 (preliminary data)
Annual reports on their activity for 2022 were submitted at the National Statistical Institute (NSI) by 448 409 non-financial enterprises, which was 8.6% more compared to 2021. The number of persons employed in full-time equivalent in the non-financial enterprises was 2 220 091 or 4.3% more than the previous year. The non-financial enterprises generated 277 910 million BGN of the value of output at current prices and reported a positive financial result of 39 803 million BGN (the data are preliminary).

412 119 were the non-financial enterprises in Bulgaria that submitted an annual report on their activity for 2021 at the National Statistical Institute (NSI), which was only 0.1% more compared to 2020. Their number of persons employed calculated in full-time equivalent (FTE) was 2 129 746 or by 1.8% more than the previous year (the data are preliminary).

According to preliminary data annual reports on their activity for 2020 were submitted at the National Statistical Institute by 410 785 non-financial enterprises and the number of persons, employed in them, was 2 092 062. These enterprises generated 189 813 million BGN of production value and reported a positive financial result of 19 499 million BGN.
