Inflation and Consumer Price Indices in June 2021

In the period January - April 2021 the exports of goods from Bulgaria to the EU increased by 21.7% compared to the same period of 2020 and amounted to 14 253.7 Million BGN while the imports of goods to Bulgaria from the EU grew by 19.8% and reached 14 196.8 Million BGN.
In April 2021 the exports to the EU increased by 59.7% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to 3 904.2 Million BGN while the imports grew by 56.7% and added up to 3 596.7 Million BGN.
In the period January - May 2021 the exports of goods from Bulgaria to third countries increased by 12.1% compared to the same period of 2020 and amounted to 8 742.1 Million BGN while the imports of goods from third countries grew by 20.2% and added up to 11 280.7 Million BGN.
In the period January - May 2021 the total value of all exported goods to third countries and EU amounted to 26 355.3 Million BGN, which is 19.4% more than the same period of the previous year, while the total value of all imported goods from third countries and EU added up to 29 158.0 Million BGN and grew by 23.1%.
In May 2021, during the continuing epidemic situation, 2 043 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed-places functioned in the country. The total number of the rooms in them was 72.4 thousand and the bed-places were 153.6 thousand.
The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation establishments registered in May 2021 was 731.7 thousand.
The total revenues from nights spent in May 2021 reached 39.6 million BGN, as 29.4 million were from Bulgarians and 10.2 million - from foreigners.
According to the preliminary data, in May 2021 the index of production in section ‘Construction’ calculated on the basis of seasonally adjusted data was 2.4% below the level of the previous month. In May 2021 the working day adjusted index of production in construction increased by 4.6% in comparison with the same month of 2020.
According to the preliminary seasonally adjusted data in May 2021 the turnover in ‘Retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles’ at constant prices increased by 1.4% compared to the previous month. The working day adjusted turnover rose by 23.9% as compared to the same month of the previous year.
According to the preliminary data in May 2021 the Industrial Production Index, seasonally adjusted, decreased by 1.2% compared to April 2021.
In May 2021 the working day adjusted Industrial Production Index rose by 16.5% in comparison with the same month of 2020.
The National Statistical Institute informs statistical data users that final European Health Interview - wave 3 data are available
The European Health Interview Survey is a part of the European Health Survey System, which aims at measuring on a harmonized basis and with a high degree of comparability among EU Member States, the health status, life style (health determinants) and health care services use of the EU citizens.
In 2019, the Bulgarian NSI participated in the EHIS wave 3 in accordance with the Commission Regulation (EU) No. 2018/255. The survey has been carried out in the period October 2019 - January 2020.
Following the successful completion of the validation procedure by Eurostat, users can now benefit from the survey final data.
Aggregated data are available to all users on the NSI’s website, theme ‘Health’ (https://www.nsi.bg/en/content/18647/ehis-wave-3-2019), in the IS ‘Infostat’ (https://infostat.nsi.bg/infostat/pages/module.jsf?x_2=43) as well as service on request, according to the Rules for the dissemination of statistical products and services in NSI.
Anonymised individual data will be provide for scientific and research purposes by individual request, according to the Rules for the provision of anonymised individual data for scientific and research purposes, at the end of 2021.
The key indicators are elaborated in accordance with the euro area, European Union and individual Member States indicators system. The analytical document is quarterly updated. Source of the data are the NSI statistical surveys and BNB data. From 2016 annual data is published in a separate application, which is updated every first half year.
Total Producer Price Index in May 2021 increased by 1.9% compared to the previous month and by 13.0% compared to the same month of 2020. Producer Price Index on Domestic Market in May 2021 increased by 1.3% compared to the previous month; compared to the same month of 2020 the domestic prices rose by 8.9%.
