The President of the National Statistical Institute, Assoc. Prof. Atanas Atanasov, PhD, held a working meeting with the Chairman of the Board of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tsvetan Simeonov. The meeting was also attended by Lyubomir Levicharov - Head of the Economic Analyses and Policies Department at the BCCI.
The participants discussed opportunities for improving cooperation between the NSI and the BCCI, as well as with all employers' organizations.
The President of the National Statistical Institute pointed out that reducing the administrative burden for businesses is extremely important to him. He noted that he would work to make statistical data even more reliable and timely. "The European Union is already thinking about the use of information from private data holders when conducting statistical research, and this will make statistics much more accurate and up-to-date," Atanasov pointed out during the conversation.
The Chairman of BCCI stressed that his organization, together with many similar organizations around the world, works for uniform standards in international trade. He said that there is an opportunity to introduce a single code for companies that is valid worldwide, which will improve and facilitate identification systems. Mr. Simeonov expressed his satisfaction with the work with the NSI and agreed to distribute the NSI's consumer satisfaction survey to BCCI members for their recommendations to improve the NSI's work.
The past meeting was one of the first in a series of familiarization talks by Assoc. Prof. Atanas Atanasov, PhD, with the social partners. Meetings with other nationally represented employers and trade unions are forthcoming.
