The Executive Director of the Kosovo Agency of Statistics, Avni Kastrati, and the Population Registration Manager, Ylli Shala, were on a two-day visit to the NSI. The purpose of the visit was to discuss at a high level the possibilities for future cooperation in the field of statistics between the two institutions.
The representatives from the Kosovo agency of Statistics were welcomed by the President of NSI, Assoc. Prof. Atanas Atanasov, PhD, who noted that maintaining and developing bilateral relations with the statistical offices of the Balkan countries is a long-standing priority of the NSI. “We believe that sharing ideas and good practices is the way to achieve a higher quality of official statistics at the national, European and international level, which in turn will bring benefits to all users of statistical information”, said Assoc. Prof. Atanasov.
During the two-day visit, among the topics discussed were the latest population and housing census conducted in 2021 in Bulgaria and in 2024 in Kosovo, experiences and good practices were shared in the field of macroeconomic statistics, dissemination of official statistics and raising statistical literacy among users, with a focus on young people.
