Building Permits Issued and Construction of New Buildings Started in the Third Quarter of 2011
In the third quarter of 2011, the municipal authorities have issued building permits for construction of 1 335 residential buildings with 2 538 dwellings, of 61 administrative buildings/offices and 1 433 other buildings. The construction of 721 residential buildings with 1 689 dwellings, of 31 administrative buildings/offices and 565 other buildings has been started.
Business Conjuncture, October 2011
In October 2011 the total business climate indicator marks a decrease of 0.7 percentage points in comparison with level from the previous month because of the more moderate managers’ assessments of the present business situation of the enterprises in industry and service sector.
Producer Price Indices in Industry, September 2011
Producer Price Index on Domestic Market in September 2011 increased by 0.8% compared to the previous month, while compared to the same month of 2010 the domestic prices grew by 6.6%. Total Producer Price Index rose by 1.5% compared to the previous month, compared to the same month of 2010 the prices went up by 8.5%.
Trips of Bulgarian Residents Abroad and Arrivals of Visitors from Abroad to Bulgaria in September 2011
In September 2011 the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 366.0 thousand, which was 3.2% more than the number of the trips in September 2010. In September 2011, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 1 049.2 thousand or 3.0% more than the number of trips in the corresponding month of 2010.
Deficit and Debt of General Government Sector in 2010
On the basis of final data of the National Statistical Institute the General Government Sector reported in 2010 government deficit of 2 208.0 million BGN or 3.1% of GDP.
The Government Debt of Bulgaria for 2010 is 11 458.8 million BGN or 16.3% of GDP.
Market Price Indices of Dwellings for the Third Quarter of 2011
The market price index of the dwellings for the third quarter of 2011 compared to the second quarter of 2011 was 99.2%, i.e. the average decrease of the market prices of the dwellings was 0.8%.
Research and Development Activity, 2010
In 2010 the total amount of the expenditure on research and development activity (R&D) is 420.1 million BGN which increases by 16.4% in comparison with the previous year and the annual growth tendency retains for the period of 2006 - 2010.

Bulgarian Trade with Third Countries for the Period January - August 2011 (preliminary data)
In the period January - August 2011 the Bulgarian exports to third countries increased by 32.8% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and exceeded 9.8 billion levs while the imports increased by 22.4% and amounted to 12.0 billion levs.
In the period January - August 2011 the total value of the exported goods (both for third countries and EU) amounted to 25.7 billion levs and compared to the corresponding period of 2010 the exports increased by 34.0% while the total value of all imported goods was 28.2 billion levs and increased by 20.3%.
