Deficit and Debt of General Government Sector for the period 2010 - 2013 according to ESA 2010
According to the updated European System of National and Regional Accounts (ESA 2010) the National Statistical Institute reported on the basis of final data for General Government sector in 2013 deficit of 989 million BGN or 1.2% of GDP. The Government debt of Bulgaria for 2013 is 14 731 million BGN or 18.3% of GDP.
Research and Development Activity in 2013 (preliminary data)
In 2013, the total amount of expenditure on research and development activity (R&D) was 521.2 million BGN which was 5.0% more than the previous year.
Inflation and Consumer Price Indices in September 2014
The consumer price index in September 2014 compared to August 2014 was 99.8%, i.e. the monthly inflation was -0.2%.
Bulgarian Trade with Third Countries for the Period January - August 2014 (preliminary data)
In the period January - August 2014 the Bulgarian exports to third countries decreased by 10.7% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 10.4 Billion BGN while the imports decreased by 4.4% and added up to 12.8 Billion BGN.
In the period January - August 2014 the total value of all exported goods (both for third countries and EU) amounted to 27.9 Billion BGN and compared to the corresponding period of 2013 the exports decreased by 2.9% while the total value of all imported goods added up to 33.0 Billion BGN and increased by 0.2%.
Activity of Accommodation Establishments in August 2014
In August 2014, 2 923 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed places were functioned in the country. The total number of the rooms in them was 130.8 thousands and the bed-places were 292.2 thousands. In comparison with August 2013 the total number of accommodation establishments increased by 6.0% and the bed-places in them - by 5.6%.
The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation establishments registered in August 2014 was 5089.1 thousands or by 1.3% more in comparison with the same month of the previous year. The total revenues from nights spent in August 2014 reached 239.7 million BGN or by 12.5% more compared to August 2013.
Bulgarian Trade with EU in the Period January - July 2014 (preliminary data)
In the period January - July 2014 the Bulgarian exports to the EU increased by 3.6% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 15.2 Billion BGN while the imports grew by 2.3% and added up to 17.7 Billion BGN.
In July 2014 the exports to the EU increased by 7.5% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to 2.6 Billion BGN while the imports decreased by 4.2% and added up to 2.7 Billion BGN.
Construction Production Indices in August 2014
According to the preliminary data, in August 2014 the index of production in section ‘Construction’, calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data, was 1.6% below the level of the previous month. In August 2014 the working day adjusted index of production in construction decreased by 0.3% in comparison with the same month of 2013.
Turnover Indices in 'Retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles' in August 2014
According to the preliminary seasonally adjusted data in August 2014 the turnover in ‘Retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles’ division at constant prices increased by 0.4% compared to the previous month. The working day adjusted turnover grew by 4.5% as compared to the same month of the previous year.
Industrial Production Indices in August 2014
According to the preliminary data the Industrial Production Index, seasonally adjusted, decreased by 0.9% in August 2014 as compared to July 2014. In August 2014 the working day adjusted Industrial Production Index fall by 1.9% in comparison with the same month of 2013.
