Trips of Bulgarian Residents Abroad and Arrivals of Visitors from Abroad to Bulgaria in January 2021
In January 2021, during the continuing epidemic situation in the country, the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 303.7 thousand, or by 28.2% under the registered in January 2020.
In January 2021, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 241.7 thousand or by 60.0% less in comparison with January 2020.
Producer Price Indices in Industry, January 2021
Total Producer Price Index in January 2021 rose by 1.8% compared to the previous month and by 0.7% compared to the same month of 2020. Producer Price Index on Domestic Market in January 2021 increased by 0.9% compared to the previous month and by 0.1% compared with January 2020.
Business Conjuncture, February 2021
In February 2021, the total business climate indicator increases by 1.8 percentage points in comparison with the previous month. An improvement of the business conjuncture is registered in construction and service sector, while in industry and retail trade the indicator remains approximately to its January level.
Activity and condition of accommodation establishments during the state of emergency in January 2021
In February 2021, the National Statistical Institute conducted the monthly inquiry survey of the managers of accommodation establishments to gather accurate and timely information on the state and development of their businesses during the ensuing epidemic situation in the country.
Turnover Indices in Services in the Fourth Quarter of 2020
According to the preliminary data for the fourth quarter of 2020 the total turnover index in section ‘Transportation, storage and post’, calculated on the basis of seasonally adjusted data increased by 8.7% compared to the third quarter of 2020. In section ‘Information and communication’ the turnover index increased by 0.7%.
Situation of the non-financial enterprises in the epidemic situation in January 2021
Main results from the short business survey amongst the non-financial enterprises, aiming at presenting to the society and policy makers information on the economic effects from the declared state of emergency and the ensuing epidemic situation in the country due to COVID-19.
Tourist Trips and Tourism-related Expenditure of the Population in Fourth Quarter of 2020 (preliminary data)
In the fourth quarter of 2020, during the continuing epidemic situation in the country, 471.8 thousand Bulgarian residents made tourist trips. The majority - 95.4% of them travelled only within the country, 3.9% - only abroad and 0.7% - both in the country and abroad. The total number of the travelled persons aged 15 and over was by 63.8% less compared to the same quarter of 2019, as a collapse in the number of the Bulgarian residents travelled in the country - by 57.4%, as well as in the number of persons travelled abroad by 91.7% was observed. As regards the number of persons travelled both in the country and abroad, the drop was by 86.5%.
Household Income, Expenditure and Consumption during the Fourth Quarter of 2020
The total income average per household member during the fourth quarter of 2020 is 1 805 BGN and increases by 2.0% compared to the same quarter of 2019.
The total expenditure average per household member during the fourth quarter of 2020 is 1 681 BGN and increases by 0.7% in comparison to the same quarter of 2019.
The consumption of main food products average per household member during the fourth quarter of 2020 changes insignificantly compared to the same quarter of 2019.
Gross Domestic Product for the Fourth Quarter of 2020 (Flash Estimates)
According to the seasonally adjusted data, the GDP has a negative growth of 3.8% in the fourth quarter of 2020 compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
Price Indices in Agriculture, Fourth Quarter of 2020
The producer price index in agriculture in the fourth quarter of 2020 increased by 15.8% in comparison with the same quarter of 2019. The crop output index increased by 19.9%, while the animal output index decreased by 5.3%. In comparison with previous year, the prices of agricultural output went up by 17.5% as result of the increase in crop output price index was by 20.9% and the animal output price index decreased by 0.4%.
The index of prices of goods and services currently consumed in agriculture in the fourth quarter of 2020 was by 4.5% lower compared to the same quarter of previous year and by 3.8% compared to 2019.
