Goods and passengers carried and transport performance by mode of transport in the first quarter of 2021 (preliminary data)
According to preliminary data during the first quarter of 2021 in comparison with the same quarter of 2020 the goods carried and the transport performance by the freight land and water transport increased.
In the first quarter of 2021 there was a decrease both in the transported passengers (by 31.4%) and the transport performance (by 29.4%) from the passenger transport (land, water and urban electrical transport) compared to the same period of the previous year.
Production and Deliveries of Energy Products, March 2021
In March 2021 compared to February 2021 an increase is reported for the production of solid fuels - by 3.2%, liquefied petroleum gases - by 40.0%, unleaded motor gasoline - by 24.2%, transport diesel - by 45.1%, and electricity - by 13.5%. No change for the production of natural gas.
In March 2021 compared to February 2021 an increase is reported for the deliveries of solid fuels - by 4.2%, liquefied petroleum gases - by 15.6%, transport diesel - by 1.9%, natural gas - by 8.6%, and electricity - by 6.4%. A decrease is reported for the deliveries of unleaded motor gasoline - by 5.4%.
Trips of Bulgarian Residents Abroad and Arrivals of Visitors from Abroad to Bulgaria in April 2021
In April 2021, in the conditions of the continuing epidemic situation, the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 271.2 thousand.
In April 2021, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 282.5 thousand, as the transit was 61.7% (174.4 thousand) of all visits of foreigners in the country.

In May 2021, the total business climate indicator increases by 12.4 percentage points compared to as a result of the positive managers’ opinions in all observed sectors - industry, construction, retail trade and services.
Activity and condition of accommodation establishments during the state of emergency in April 2021
In May 2021, the National Statistical Institute conducted the monthly inquiry survey of the managers of accommodation establishments to gather accurate and timely information on the state and development of their businesses during the ensuing epidemic situation in the country.
Tourist Trips and Tourism-related Expenditure of the Population in First Quarter of 2021 (preliminary data)
In the first quarter of 2021, during the continuing epidemic situation in the country, 457.0 thousand Bulgarian residents made tourist trips. The majority - 93.8% of them travelled only within the country, 5.2% - only abroad and 1.0% - both in the country and abroad.
Main Data on Culture in the Republic of Bulgaria for 2020
In 2020 in Bulgaria were operating the following cultural institutions:
• 182 museums with museum collection of 7 550 thousand units;
• 71 theatres, which organized 7 021 performances, visited by 769 thousand viewers;
• 47 libraries with library collection over 200 thousand library units;
• 70 cinemas with 215 cinema screens.
Turnover Indices in Services in the First Quarter of 2021
According to the preliminary data for the first quarter of 2021 the total turnover index in section ‘Transportation, storage and post’, calculated on the basis of seasonally adjusted data increased by 5.9% compared to the fourth quarter of 2020. In section ‘Information and communication’ the turnover index increased by 9.1%.
Household Income, Expenditure and Consumption during the First Quarter of 2021
The total income average per household member during the first quarter of 2021 is 1 830 BGN and increases by 6.9% compared to the same quarter of 2020.
The total expenditure average per household member during the first quarter of 2021 is 1 607 BGN and increases by 8.2% in comparison to the same quarter of 2020.
The consumption of main food products average per household member during the first quarter of 2021 changes insignificantly compared to the same quarter of 2020.
Gross Domestic Product for the First Quarter of 2021 (Flash Estimates)
According to the seasonally adjusted data, the GDP has a negative growth of 1.8% in the first quarter of 2021 compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
