World Bee Day, May 20, was declared by a UN resolution in December 2017 and aims to raise awareness about the importance of bees and their protection.
The topic of bees has been very relevant in recent years in connection with the global problem of their extinction. Scientists and researchers from all over the world are focusing their efforts on answering the question of why bees are declining. It is clear to all those involved in their cultivation that the use of certain chemical substances for plant protection is leading to the death of bees, and they are a key link in the life cycle of plants.
In 2021, the International Statistical Poster Contest placed the poster ‘Why are bees so important?’ made by students from the UNWE. The poster reflects the demands and positions of young people in Bulgaria and contributes to the creation of a database on beekeeping in Bulgaria.
The NSI presents the students' creativity on the topic in order to support Bulgaria's efforts in the fight for the conservation of bees and wildlife.
