The National Statistical Institute has started work on the ‘Labour Force Survey 2020 ad hoc module on accidents at work and other work-related health problems’ project. The implementation of the project is according to the Grant Agreement with the European Commission No. 875260-2019-BG-LFS.
The ad hoc module on ‘Accidents at work and other work-related health problems’ is included in the regular 2020 Labour Force Survey following the requirements of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2018/1709 of 13 November 2018.
The aim of the 2020 LFS AHM is to provide in depth and comparable information on:
- frequency of accidents that occur at work leading to an injury;
- number of people who have health problems caused or made worse by work;
- number of people who are exposed to risk factors affecting their physical health and mental well-being;
- types of accidents, health problems and risk factors that occur;
- the impact of accidents and health problems in terms of lost days from work;
- who is affected in terms of individual, occupational and labour market characteristics.
The data collected should provide important information for policies related to health and safety at work.
The project duration is 21 months, ending in May 2021.
