Preliminary data of the NSI for the second quarter of 2021 indicate that the total hourly labour cost rose by 6.7% compared to the second quarter of 2020.

The consumer price index in August 2021 compared to July 2021 was 100.8%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.8%.
In 2020 the goods exported from Bulgaria amounted to 54 779.3 million BGN or 6.3% less than in 2019. The imported goods in 2020 were for 60 127.1 million BGN (at CIF prices), which is 8.9% less than the previous year.
In the period January - June 2021 the exports of goods from Bulgaria to the EU increased by 24.4% compared to the same period of 2020 and amounted to 21 426.2 million BGN while the imports of goods to Bulgaria from the EU grew by 25.1% and reached 21 601.5 million BGN.
In June 2021 the exports to the EU increased by 28.4% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to 3 800.8 million BGN while the imports grew by 26.1% and added up to 3 750.3 million BGN.
In the period January - July 2021 the exports of goods from Bulgaria to third countries increased by 17.3% compared to the same period of 2020 and amounted to 12 708.3 million BGN while the imports of goods from third countries grew by 25.1% and added up to 16 481.7 million BGN.
In the period January - July 2021 the total value of all exported goods to third countries and EU amounted to 37 971.9 million BGN, which is 21.1% more than the same period of the previous year, while the total value of all imported goods from third countries and EU added up to 42 024.7 million BGN and grew by 25.2%.
In July 2021, during the continuing epidemic situation, 3 058 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed-places, functioned in the country. The total number of the rooms in them was 126.5 thousand and the bed-places were 282.8 thousand.
The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation establishments registered in July 2021 was 4 250.5 thousand.
The total revenues from nights spent in July 2021 reached 263.5 million BGN, as 161.6 million BGN were from foreigners and 101.9 million BGN - from Bulgarians.
According to the preliminary data, in July 2021 the index of production in section ‘Construction’ calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data was 0.9% below the level of the previous month. In July 2021, the calendar adjusted index of production in construction increased by 0.8% in comparison with the same month of 2020.
According to the preliminary seasonally adjusted data in July 2021 the turnover in ‘Retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles’ at constant prices increased by 1.0% compared to the previous month. The calendar adjusted turnover rose by 20.2% compared to the same month of the previous year.
According to the preliminary data in July 2021 the Industrial Production Index, seasonally adjusted, increased by 0.3% compared to June 2021.
In July 2021, the calendar adjusted Industrial Production Index rose by 8.3% in comparison with the same month of 2020.
According to the seasonally adjusted data, GDP increased by 9.9% in the second quarter of 2021 compared with the same quarter of 2020.
