A delegation from NSI will take part in the celebrations dedicated to 200 years of the Federal State Statistical Service of Russia.
Over 500 guests, including heads of statistical institutions and international statistical organizations аre expected to attend the event.
The Federal State Statistical Service of Russia was established in March 1811 as a department of the Ministry of Police of the Russian Empire and its first director was the renowned scientist, economist and statistician - Academician Karl Theodor German. Since its creation, the Russian statistics has come a long way, guided by the principles of impartiality, openness and professionalism.
During the celebration, on 23 - 24 June 2011 the Statistical Office of Russia - ROSSTAT will hold an international scientific and practical conference entitled "The Russian state statistics and the challenges of the 21st century".
