The BNSI President - Assoc. Prof. Mariana Kotzeva will take part in the 58th plenary session of the Conference of European Statisticians from 8 to 10 June 2010 in Paris. The meeting will be attended by delegations, led by the Directors-General of the Statistical Offices of more than 50 countries, a number of international organizations such as IMF, WB, UNECE, UNICEF and WTO. The European Community will be represented by Eurostat and the European Central Bank.
The plenary session will include discussions on three basic themes:
- General issues related to the international statistical work and management of the statistical systems;
- Presentations of different manuals, guidelines and recommendations on gender statistics, on measuring of different emerging forms of households and families, and on statistical measurement of quality of employment, prepared under the auspices of the Conference.
- A number of up-to-date issues, related to the impact of global crises on the statistical systems will be presented and topics for work in the coming year will be outlined.
The NSI has prepared and sent a position of Bulgaria on Potential Indicators for Measurement of Quality of Employment, while from the topics proposed for CES seminars in 2011, NSI selected the following two topics: Statistics on environment related housing and Budget cuts and statistical programming.
The BNSI President will have a number of bilateral meetings with Heads of the Statistical Offices in the region.
