In the period 24 - 28 July 2019 the National Statistical Institute of the Republic of Bulgaria hosted a study visit for experts from the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan themed ‘Application of current international statistical classification in identified areas’. The study visit was organised within the framework of the project ‘EU support to the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan to reach European Standards, EuropeAid/138625/DH/SER/AZ’, in which the NSI participates as a partner in the project consortium alongside ICON Institute, the Federal Statistical Office of Germany (Destatis), Statistics Netherlands (CBS) and Statistics Lithuania.
As per the agenda the scope of the study visit covered a wide variety of subjects in the field of development, support and application of statistical classifications, presented by lead experts from the National Statistical Institute, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry and the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy. The experts from Azerbaijan participated in the study visit in the NSI’s Training Centre in Slivek, Lovech region, and visited the Regional Statistical Office ‘Severoiztok’ in order to review the application of statistical classifications on regional level in practice.
