The course was organized by the National Statistical Institute in collaboration with the University of National and World Economy and provided an opportunity for Azerbaijan guests to get acquainted with the basics of statistical theory and practice as well as Bulgarian history and culture. The variety of themes and the good preparation of the lecturers created the necessary atmosphere for learning and active participation of the junior Azerbaijani statisticians.
The training ended with conducting of final test and receiving certificates of participants. The certificates were singed by the rector of UNWE prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Statty Stattev and the president of the NSI Mr. Sergey Tsvetarsky. He handed the certificates to the statisticians and wished them success in the future professional development. Mr. Tsvetarsky gave of one of the course participants - Emil Mammadov a NSI’s plaque for very good performance. Azerbaijani guests thanked for warm welcome and interesting lectures as well as the opportunity to get acquainted with Bulgaria during the visits in Lovech, Troyan, Veliko Tarnovo, Sofia and Pleven.
Upon closure of the course Mr. Tsvetarsky stressed that the good cooperation between NSI and the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan is a necessary condition for the successful implementation of training and noted that this is a pilot course designed and organized specifically for Azerbaijani statisticians. Forthcoming its enlargement and improvement in order to provide an opportunity for statisticians from different expert level to increase their knowledge and professionalism and to get acquainted with Bulgarian experience in the production of official statistics.
