On 17th November 2016 the last regular meeting of the European Statistical System Committee (ESSC) for this year will be held. The Committee will discuss and vote on the adoption of the specifications of the 2018 ad hoc module on reconciliation between work and family life. The Committee will also consider the ESS Vision 2020, the draft European Parliament and Council Regulations concerning Integrated European Business Statistics (FRIBS), the Integrated Farm Statistics (IFS), and the inclusion of territorial typologies into the Regulation on the establishment of a common classification of territorial units for statistics (NUTS). The ESSC is invited to give its opinion on the strategic priorities for 2018, which will serve as strategic guidance for the preparation of the Annual Work Programme 2018 in accordance with the framework set by the European Statistical Programme.
The President of the National Statistical Institute, Sergey Tsvetarsky, will take part in the ESSC meeting, to be held at Eurostat, Luxembourg.
ESSC provides for the professional guidance of the European Statistical System (ESS) in the development, production and dissemination of European statistics in compliance with the statistical principles. It supports Eurostat on issues related to the coordination and priorities of the European Statistical Programme, further development of the European Statistics Code of Practice, reduction of the respondent burden, statistical confidentiality and also matters as regards the methodology arising from the establishing and implementing of statistical programmes.
