The European Statistical System Committee meets on 19 November 2015

On 19 November 2015 at Eurostat, Luxembourg, the 27th meeting of the European Statistical Committee (ESSC) will be held. This is the fourth and the last ESSC meeting for this year. It is chaired by Eurostat and attended by the Heads of the National Statistical Institutes of the EU Member States and representatives of ECB, OECD and EFTA countries. Mr. Sergey Tsvetarsky, President of the National Statistical Institute, will participate in the meeting on behalf of Bulgaria.

The comitology part of the agenda contains only one act concerning draft Commission implementing regulation adopting the specifications of the 2017 ad hoc module on self-employment provided for by Council Regulation (EC) No 577/98.

The items for opinion are related to the implementation of the ESS Vision 2020; the revised versions of the ESS quality and reference metadata reporting standards; the strategic priorities for the Annual Work Programme 2017; the draft regulation on statistics relating to persons and households – Integrated European Social Statistics, and others.

The ESSC members will discuss on the Catalogue of Statistical Products 2016 which forms the basis of European Statistics.

The meeting will be attended by the Director-General of DG “Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations” (DG NEAR) to the European Commission, Mr. Christian Danielsson, who will make a presentation.
