In 1 April, the National Statistical Institute of Bulgaria launches the survey on ‘ICT usage in households and by individuals in 2015’. The survey is conducted in compliance to the Regulation (EU) No 1196/2014 of the EU Commission concerning Community statistics on the Information Society and follows common methodology with all EU Member States, which will ensure international comparability of obtained results.

The questions included in the questionnaire are related to the development of Information Society among the population: household access to the Internet, usage of Internet and computers by individuals, e-Commerce and e-Government, personal skill for using computers. For the first time will be investigated the attitude of persons about the risks associated with the Internet security (e.g. virus attacks, misuse of personal data or tracking of visited websites).

4 800 ordinary households throughout the whole country will be visited by specially trained interviewers who will identify themselves by an official card. Subject of interviewing are all persons in the household aged 16 - 74 years.

The results of the survey will be published on the NSI’s website.

We would like to thank in advance to all households for the cooperation in the presentation of the development of Information society in Bulgaria to the European Community!
