The National Statistical Institute has launched a project under OPAC for building an Information system for citizens and firms trough automatic fulfilment of on-line requests for statistical information

On the 2 April 2014 the National Statistical Institute started the implementation of a project entitled: ”Development of instruments for possibilities of on-line definition and fulfillment of requests for statistical information by the BNSI website for citizens, businesses and administration through compilation of information from the BNSI surveys, tables’ generation and check of data confidentiality”.

The project is being implemented under a contract № 13-31-19/02.04.2014, between the NSI and the Ministry of Finance, Managing Authority of the Operational Programme “Administrative Capacity”. The contract is funded by the Operational Programme “Administrative Capacity“, co-financed by the European Union through the European Social Fund. The duration of the project is 18 months.

The main goal of the project is to improve the quality and reliability of services for citizens and businesses by development of e-Government.

The specific objectives for achieving the final results are acceleration of the process of data providing for users, improvement of quality of final data and the processed information, received from the BNSI surveys.

The project is targeted to a wide range of users: citizens, businesses, professional organizations, societies and associations, governments, whose representatives will be able to define online requests for statistical information in the NSI website, as well as for use by employees of the NSI for the production of statistics reference. The objectives of the project are in full compliance with the measures laid down in the regulations of the European Union and the Strategy for Development of the National Statistical System of the Republic of Bulgaria 2013-2017.
