Topic: “Spatial Statistics from different data sources” with focus on identifying the users` information needs.
Participants: 81 representatives from over 26 countries, experts from national statistical institutes, European Commission, geographic institutions, representatives of the academic community and private sector, producers and users of geostatistical, spatial data and products.
The conference of the European Forum for Geostatistics in Sofia was opened by the President of the National Statistical Institute Mrs. Reneta Indjova, Ph.D, the President of EFGS Mr. Vilni Bloch and the Eurostat representative Mr. Ekkehard Petri.
The conference was organized in several working sessions, in which the participants were acquainted with a set of European and global projects and initiatives, aimed at a long-term integration of statistical data with their spatial localization.
