Project “Linking micro-data on international sourcing and global value chains with other statistical repositories”

The National Statistical Institute has launched a project “Streamlining of the SBS, FATS and PRODCOM legal framework in the context of the integration of business statistics (FRIBS)”which is carried out in accordance with the Grant agreement with the European Commission № 06123.2013.002-2013.292.
The general objectives of the project are:
• Compilation of quarterly statistics on legal unit’s registrations, deregistration and bankruptcies.
• Compilation of good quality SBS characteristics broken down by size classes of persons employed.
Expected results for the NSI:
• Testing the feasibility of producing quarterly data for enterprise/legal unit registrations, deregistrations and bankruptcies based on information available in national Business Registers and/or any other data sources available to BNSI. Information will be compiled for each quarter of the years 2010, 2011, 2012, and for the first and second quarters of 2013; An assessment of the sustainability of the production of these data over the time; Detailed assessment of the quality of the methods used and the data collected.
• Production and provision to Eurostat the necessary data for the indicators under the SBS for reporting year 2012, and a description of the methodology; An assessment of the sustainability of the developed method in time; An evaluation of the data quality.
The project duration is 4 months and it will be completed in October 2013.
