NSI hosts a study visit on Environmental Protection Expenditures

EU Twinning project „Support to the State Statistical Office for capacity building and improving compliance of statistics with EU standards” started in 2012 in Skopje, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM). The total amount for the project is one million euros. The overall objective to which this project contributes is the improvement of decision making by government institutions, businesses and citizens in the country, through producing exhaustive and comparable statistics in line with EU and international standards, aiming at further advancing of democracy and market oriented economy.
Federal Statistical Office of Germany (DESTATIS) is a leading partner; Statistics Denmark is a junior partner of the project. National statistical offices of Bulgaria, Czech Republic and France participate with experts in different areas. In the project framework the National Statistical Institute of Bulgaria will provide expertise in the field of national accounts, environmental and transport statistics. From the start of the project Bulgarian experts implemented four expert missions in Skopje; one study visit on Environmental Protection Expenditures in Sofia is planned.
Study visit takes place in the NSI Head Office from 26 till 28 June 2013. The agenda includes topics, related to the identifying the population of specialized producers trough the Information System Business Statistics, identification of environmental specific services, connected products, end-of-pipe technologies, integrated technologies, etc. The Questionnaire for Environmental Protection Expenditures, prepared by the Macedonian colleagues, will be discussed.
