In the period 2-4 July 2012, NSI hosted a study visit of experts from the Federal State Statistics Service of Russia (ROSSTAT). The event was organized within the framework of the bilateral cooperation between the National Statistics of Bulgaria and the Russian Federation, as a result of the signed on 7 June 1999 in Moscow Agreement on Cooperation in the field of statistics, and the Protocol signed between NSI and ROSSTAT in Sofia in 2009.
During the three-day consultation, experts from NSI shared their experience in the production of statistics in two main statistical domains – macroeconomic and business statistics. The main topic of the discussions were “Investments in Fixed Capital” with focus on gross fixed capital formation in national accounts; sources and methods for estimation of investments; statistical surveys providing data for investments’ estimates.
This was the second visit of a delegation from the Federal State Statistics Service of Russia in 2012 after the visit of the official delegation led by the Head of ROSSTAT Mr. Alexander Surinov in the period 30 January to 2 February 2012. Such meetings of Bulgarian and Russian statisticians are another proof of deepening and enriching the bilateral relations between NSI and ROSSTAT.
