Annual meeting of the Group on Statistical Cooperation in South East Europe

The President of the National Statistical Institute Assoc. Prof. Mariana Kotzeva will take part in the third meeting of the Group on Statistical Cooperation in South East Europe, which will take place on 26 October 2011 in Zagreb, hosted by the Central Bureau of Statistics of Croatia.
Directors General of statistical offices of Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, candidate countries and potential candidate countries in the region and representatives of Eurostat, will attend the forum.
Upcoming joint activities for 2012 of the statistical offices in the region will be discussed during the meeting in Zagreb. Emphasis will be placed on dissemination of the results of the conducted population and housing censuses.
The first informal meeting of the Directors General of statistical offices of the Balkan countries was held in September 2008 in Bansko on the initiative of Bulgaria. Next year Group on Cooperation was established with the aim to strengthen collaboration in the field of statistics between countries of South East Europe.
